Rumors of Light (ROL discussion thread)

Here's an UPDATE: TA Calendar has a new "edit date" of 3/18 - unfortunately still shows AK closing at 6 or 6:30, at least for April and May, which are the only ones I looked at...shows the MK extended closing time of 11 rather than 10. BOOOOOOOOO!!! :headache:
Can you link me to the TA calendar or tell me how to find it?

Edit: Think I found it. They added PM EMH to our previously crowd level 4 last MK day. :'(

I must have spoken with a "friend of Maggie" this morning. When I asked if ROL dining packages are available to book yet, she said she would have to transfer me to reservations in order to get the dining plan. I explained I did not want to add the dining plan to my reservation, but only to book a ROL if available. She then looked in her notes and said that it starts on the April 22nd. I should call back on the 22nd to get a reservation.

I wish I didn't have so much course work due that I had time to make a logo for us.

... I spent way too much time thinking about that.

If we have a resident graphic designer, go for it! :p

Ok...I totally want...no NEED, one of these!!! You did put a lot of thought into this!! We all need one of these shirts!!!

I'll second that! I was so disappointed when I got an e-mail alert from the Dibb about updated park hours during our trip and the only change was even later hours at MK on our break day.

No change for June hours yet, but we already had the AK hours extended to 8pm about a month ago. Our FP window opens in 16 days! Wahoo!

OK, now I am seriously aggravated. I leave for vacation and 32 days, my Animal Kingdom days are April 24th and the 27th. Is it too much to ask for Disney to please release the hours for April?!?
I hear you. It's 27 days for me, and I have a lot going on a couple of days before we go. It would really help if Disney would give us an answer soon.
I did rework our dining last night. We are going to TH for dinner on the 17th, preview or not. I shifted days, and really used my time reasonably well while glance at basketball now and then.
At least I feel like I controlled something. Ha! Who am I kidding?

Wouldn't that be something if they said only those on the Disney Dining Plan are elegible for the ROL package?
I think it's more likely to be the opposite. That way those on DPP will still have to pay OOP for it even though they already purchased the dining plan.

The only way we're purchasing the TH ROL package is if it's DDP eligible. If not, we'll consider FTBBQ package depending on the price... or just get a FP+. Party of 6, cannot budget an additional $50 per person out of pocket.

(Assuming FT has a RoL dining package as has been speculated.)

26 for me! I took a hard look at my itinerary, and I'm really hoping the 17th materialized for a preview party. It's the least disruptive. At this point, If I book it for sure, I think I have it that I'll just have to cancel some extraneous dining things and maybe juggle some things that are loosely planned.

That is my hope.

It may be unrealistic.

Either way, our plan is to go into AKL on our last night, the 22nd, but I have low expectations. I hope we'll have already been to a preview party by that point, and even if we don't have anything locked down for that night, just hoping it will be fun to be in the mix...

I look forward to being put out of my misery one way or another!

Another day with no dining packages and no baby. Sigh. I ate an entire pineapple last night with hopes of moving things along (with the baby, not the dining packages, although whatever works) but nothing.

We're seeing our friend tonight, the one working on the show in production, so I'll see if I can squeeze any more info out of her.

The waiting is tough with a new little one - hope you are feeling well!

We are also hoping FT has a RoL dining package. We do not use the DDP and are 4 "adults", including a 15 and 13-yo. We will do TH if that is the only way (aside from Tiffins, which I'm assuming will be even more), because this is likely our last trip before the oldest goes to college.

Best wishes for you and your little one for a quick and safe delivery!! :)

I've got a weird idea about Rivers of Light and when it's being offered. This is total Speculation on my part. I wonder if due to the cutbacks across the parks we are only seeing this at peak times such as (June-August, Thanksgiving and Christmas). The times of year when the parks need the extra capacity of a night time show the most. This continues until Avatar opens and then it permanently becomes year round. There are things that are only opened seasonally such as Tomorrowland Terrace, so this isn't in the real of possibility. It would be a massive mistake in my view, but that can explain why we're not getting April or May updates yet.

It's opening April 22nd. In park testing is happening now. They are not going to release a product and then remove it the next night.
Disney are just drip feeding information in an attempt to whip up a frenzy and buzz. This thread is testament to that success.
