Harambe Nights was a special after hours ticketed event at AK the summer of 2014 for the grand opening of the new Lion King theater and the anniversary of the Lion King movie.Okay, so maybe a little like the pirate ferry fireworks thing we did last year, with all the desserts then you meet Captain Hook and such. thanks! What was Harambe Nights? - just curious!
Guest relations called me after I wrote an email. She said the official word is packages, fastpasses, special preview parties have been "postponed indefinitely" and will not be going up Tuesday. I asked her if ROL is still going on April 22nd and she said it has been "postponed" and to keep an eye on Disney Parks Blog as they would announce it there a few days before it goes up. She then asked me for my resort and asked if I got all the ADRs I wanted and I said yes. She looked in my account, said I was a pro at Disney planning and that I had great ADRS and that was that.

I'm really sure the word of a postponement is unconfirmed. Not that it's bad you went on and made your plans of course. I wouldn't do it based on the 1 report we've gotten. After the news last night that the ROL had been postponed indefinitely I went in and finalized my plans. I had both Epcot and AK booked so they could be switched. I finalized my fps for both. Luckily I was able to pick up ADRs for breakfast at Epcot on 2 days and TH dinner for 2 days. Package or not we plan to eat dinner at TH and breakfast at TGG as we have never eaten at either. We plan to walk around Epcot trying the outdoor kitchens but breakfast at TGG. With my fps for AK, they will all be changed as the later hours are a game changer. I was booking everything with a 5 pm closing time. Drat! I had the perfect day planned!
That is really not a confirmed/definite announcement. Not any more so than the other dates we've had tossed out.Went back and found the original message saying they were told it was postponed, quoted above![]()
The bold above is true for 99% of the threads on DIS!!While this thread has been equal parts entertaining, amusing and sometimes forehead palming (been following along since the beginning), I've loved every minute of it even if I do wish there was a huge "All rumour and hearsay" banner flashing on every page.

And it was sooooo awesome!!!!! Loved it!!Harambe Nights was a special after hours ticketed event at AK the summer of 2014 for the grand opening of the new Lion King theater and the anniversary of the Lion King movie.
They had appetizers and drinks on the street in the Africa area before the show.
Then we went in to a special showing of the Lion King show but this was done with live narration and film clips. (think Candlelight Processional, sort of. The narrators were celebrities)
After the show they had a dinner and drinks and a street party, even had characters out dancing and mingling.
As we left they had stilt walkers and the tree was all it up with blue lights.
It is the basis for many of the events they are added to the new nighttime activities

The descriptions of the first event make it sound quite similar. I have high hopes at leastThat sounds AMAZING! I think that the opening of ROL is worthy of such a party, so hopefully they have something similar planned and...at some point...it will be available to book!
Same. I have alerts too and I'm watching for ROL and MNSSHP datesUrgh, Parks Blog is getting on my last nerve today. I have my phone set to notify me when they post something. It's gone off like 5 times. I feel a little rush of adrenaline till I read it
We appreciate hearing what people are hearing.I have a family member who spoke with a CM earlier today. She said the CM was told this event has been postponed. I am unsure if this refers to dining/preview events or the entire show.
Yes, I agree. A CM saying something is postponed is a bit to vague to jump on. I would not be one bit surprised to find out the dining packages are postponed. I would be surprised to learn the RoL debut is postponed. We appreciate hearing what people are hearing.
In the meantime, all we can do is wait for official word. So far the Disney website is still showing April 22. Lots of us are checking regularly for updates.
