Rumors of Light (ROL discussion thread)

It's not even logical to me. Why would you have a live chat and not provide any practical information to people, especially when it's scheduled to start in about 5 or 6 weeks? I mean, it's lovely to describe the creative journey and the lanterns and the rivers, etc., but why have a live event without practical information about attending it. Makes no sense to me...
MTE. They could have done a brief interview and put it in a short blog post with a photo or two. Building it up, scheduling it live..for...what?

A lot of people worked very hard for several years to create this show and yet the only thing some people care about is what kind of cupcakes Disney will have at a dessert party. Cmon, man!

Which is exactly why we all want to see it. A week ago, we were told that the LIVE CHAT would answer all the questions - we all know it's going to be spectacular....please tell us HOW we can see it!

Spectacular. Well, on that note I think I'm going to step away from the computer before I break it and go for a walk.

We'll take Entenmann's cupcakes. What we want to know is when we can book a guaranteed seat to SEE this show without having to wait in line for three hours or sit on someone else's lap.

Did they announce showtimes?
LITERALLY the only new info:

- 5,000 capacity each show, 2,500 each side
- two snazzy costumes for the shaman guides/hosts of the show

That. Was. It.

Besides "light", "water", "magical", "memorable".

OK... I clearly need a break... may as well get my run in for the SW half training...

Yeah. Makes we wonder if they HAD planned an announcement on preview events but ran into some IT snags or something. Who knows... That's my new tag line when it comes to planning Disney trips: WHO KNOWS?!

Unless that beautiful stream of water can somehow hit a Disney computer and make a Tusker House dining package ADR for me, I don't care how beautiful it is.

We are frustrated because we want to know how we can see this show they've worked so hard on for several years. You'd think they'd want to let folks know how they can see it, no?

Is anyone still going to keep checking today?
Yep

I just got off the phone with a CM and asked about dining packages and preview packages and the CM had no further info.
CM said that the only new info on her screen was the April 22nd date:furious:

My area is under a tornado watch right now. Knowing me, the tornado will be coming in the background and I'll be sitting at my work desk, oblivious, trying to get my rol dining reservations.

I was secretly wondering if the hidey hole under the stairs at work, aka tornado area, would get wifi, so that I could still use my laptop if the sirens went off.

Just strap yourself to the computer desk!

Now I'm imaging twister at the end where they use their belts to strap themselves to pipes.

That'll be me, lifting up into the air desperately trying to hold on long enough to press the confirm button for my reservation.

My first thought too:rotfl2: Love the movie and loved the show, but I was born an Okie.

Ok, it's 2:00. My shift is over. Time for someone else to sit on the MDE Dining page and click "refresh" every 30 seconds.
