Rumors of Light (ROL discussion thread)

So true! I remember the biggest traveling without/with children contrast I had...

I visited NYC frequently since I was old enough to travel by myself -- always with one carry-on. DH and I stayed in our favorite NYC hotel soon after being married -- brought a carry-on each -- period. The next time we visited this same hotel it was with our infant son AND our little dog, and let's just say that we filled up the whole elevator just with our stuff!! LOL!!

She has 1 suitcase, 1 duffel bag, 1 bag of food & bottles & that stuff.. Forget our stuff! Thank God we don't have our dog lol.

Happy Birthday Daschie!

I hate packing! And holy cow is there a lot of stuff with a baby. I feel like I need a small trailer for all this stuff!

I've always said that when you're traveling with an infant/toddler you have to take almost the same amount of stuff whether you're going for a night or for a week. The only thing that varies is the number of diapers and outfits -- and those usually take up a very small amount of the overall "baby" packing space.

Wow - I feel for you all having to stake out FP again. That's the only thing I am glad about this situation with the delay - that I do not have to do that anymore. Hopefully they will have them ready soon

:offtopic: Today is my 50th :bday: and my coworkers didn't do a cake or invite me to lunch. They did decorate my office and give me a couple of gag gifts. Am I wrong to be disappointed? :(

That's more than I used to get !! Lol. I left my former employer after 18 years in August, and they didn't do a lunch for me or anything ---and we were all great friends !! I was upset, but just tried to concentrate on what was really important--- my family !! Have a very happy bday, and Blessed day !! My friend turned 50 today ad well !! Great date too --- DW and I are celebrating our 15th wedding anniversary --- well, she is- I have food poisoning !

I just traded ROL pin to one of the jawas - explained what it was, etc. He (she?) Got so excited, started hopping up and down! Thought y'all would want to know!

Scored an awesomely cheesy Minnie bracelet! Also, Chewie and Kylo Ren both awesome - Chewie was a big highlight!
LOL I LOVE THIS!!! :rotfl2:

I'm so sorry! I would feel the same!! :bday: :flower3: though and I hope your evening with friends is absolutely :cloud9: wonderful!!

I just had a wicked thought.:hyper: What if you pin traded a 'Rumors' pin with someone working on RoL, or a Manager when you see them wandering the park in a pack....they have to trade, right?
:joker:
.... DO IT! :rotfl:

Get well soon! Try and sip water when you can

Okay, I need to get on the RoL pin train.

Is anyone from our lounge coming to WDW June 1- 8th? :hyper2: My husband and I have a few Trader Sams visits planned, and we'd love to enjoy some drinks (and hootenanny?!?!?) with my fellow loungers as your availability allows.

Big 'ole earthy hugs to everyone going to WDW this week!
I hope y'all have happy moments to cry RIVERS OF joy and that any troubles are LIGHT as a downy, fluffy feather. That crowds aren't a JUNGLE, and you're able to BOOK whatever SHOW, ride or dining experience. WHATEVER may happen, I hope y'all share the LOVE and magic of THE LOUNGE HOOTENANNY.*

I'll be there 6/4-6/11 but it'll be my parents, my two boys (under 5yrs), and me. So I doubt I'll get free.

Trying to plan being in AK the evening of 5/29. Currently I have FP for KRR, EE and Safari. I'm stalking the Safari FP to try to switch it to a sunset time, but latest time available currently is 5:50.

I have a 4:30 Tusker House reservation. Any thoughts on if a dining package will be offered for the RoL Lite/Jungle Book show (or whatever they are calling it)? Or if FP will be available for it? I would rather get a dining package to see it instead of using up a FP, but I would get a FP if necessary to guarantee that we would be able to see the show. Any insight would be most appreciated.

I had made peace with the fact that RoL wouldn't start for our trip, now I'm back to panic mode of trying to juggle plans to try and see as many new attractions as possible. I just saw another rumor that the original Soarin' movie may be shown starting over Memorial Day weekend in the interim until the June 17th debut of the new Soarin' movie. That and trying to fit Star Wars fireworks into our plans. :headache::furious:

:offtopic:Every once in awhile I think about our upcoming trip after Thanksgiving and I just get so excited I want to scream! Today is one of those days, for some reason.

We started out by booking a 2-bedroom villa at Kidani (AKV), but when free dining dates began to float around and there was a chance of us getting that, we ended up making the plan to switch to AoA. As much as we would love to do AKV/AKL, it was going to be a real stretch for us financially. The move to AoA just makes too much sense. On the plus side, I feel so good about it now! It's like a weight has been lifted. If we end up having more money to put toward the trip, we might add a dessert party or an extra MVMCP (already planning one). Anyway, just having a moment of joy today and wanted to share it with my peeps. :)

Now to figure out a mattress topper I can have shipped to AoA so I can actually sleep on that HARD bed!

I've heard doubts about dining packages. But yes for FP. And I've heard the same about Soarin. I feel like while some answers are coming there is nothing definitive yet. Just get it out there already, Disney, and stop teasing!

I'll be there 6/1! Me, DD (4), her best friend (4), and her best friend's mom! We'll have an Epcot morning and AK evening that day!

We would like to know what time the Jungle Book show will be because I have to do FP's this Sunday. I don't know what time to make them so I can allow for plenty of time for it.
