Rumors of Light (ROL discussion thread)

Keep going. I'm enjoying your creativity of finding a way to comment on ROL and AK hours that links to the unrelated blog posts. Nice photo of the birds, but do you have a photo of the AK hours?

I was on the disney website browsing when a survey popped up. I took it and when it asked if I completed what I wanted to, I truthfully answered that I could not make the dining package reservation that I wanted for ROL since they don't exist yet and I could not complete my planning since the AK schedule is not updated. The higher ups must have gotten the message by now from all the ways people have have been contacting them about this. I've gotten to the acceptance phase of my planning and will see ROL if I can on May 1st, but it will hopefully still be there on a future trip if I can't. Doesn't stop me from checking the website at least twice a day, though.

I arrive Apr 23, purposefully avoided AK on the weekend because I think it will be a zoo there (and we all know from Disney that AK is NOT a ZOO). My plans are made for my AK day and can be tinkered with if they get around to announcing the details. All other days are set and I expect very little adjustments. Hopefully the obsessive planning trait we all exhibit here will pay off when details are finally released; regardless I expect to have a great trip and no doubt you will too.

same her...we arrive the same day you do, but don't go to AK until midweek...maybe they will have their "act" together (get it? hee hee) by then.

I consider my trip a summer trip. We are there the first two weeks in June. I pick fast passes on Thursday.

I agree. I'm just 3 weeks behind you in planning and I've resolved to the fact that I need to have a plan based on what is available today. And an alternate plan available for both AK and EP as well as our "flex" day (not sure which park we'll go to yet). I'm pretty sure I'll be sitting here a month from now checking availability of FP's nearly every day to see if Soarin', FEA, ROL, and Night Safari have opened up yet. And I'm thinking that "checking" will continue to happen right up until the days we're in those parks since I highly doubt that those 4 things will all open on the same day and and have FP's open at the same time. This is by far the most difficult time I've ever had planning our Disney trips. I thought planning the first trip with FP+ was stressful. HA! That was nothing compared to this one! I'm sure it will still be a great trip and even if we don't get to experience any of the new attractions/shows on this trip, they'll all still be there the next time we go so we'll see them then. It's just the not knowing that's driving me nuts.

Agree with the above. I have my plans set. Am going to AK on May 16, hoping to see ROL with a FP but will try for stand by if I have to. I enjoy the camaraderie on this thread and will continue to stalk for FP.

Oh my goodness. You made me go look (how could I not go look at Leia's Mortal State?). Wow!! That is so beautiful and clever and gahhhhhhh! I already bought a Leia shirt. But I love the artsy SW shirts. I have the AT-AT DaVinci that Disney sells and I've been eyeing up the Vadar Picasso on Amazon for a long time. But this I may have to get. Will Chewie be more likely to give me a bear (Wookee) hug wearing a photo of Leia or a Leia drawing with an R2 parasol and the garbage compactor monster?

A little but normal for this group. My DD and I saw Chewie a little over a week ago. We had been in MK before going to HS and got pixie dusted(glitter put in our hair). Chewie went bonkers!!! He was flabbergasted by the glitter. It was so much fun!

ha! I know - I've been pretty good so far - I think because I've been so wrapped up in ROL stalking! Given your name/avatar (which I adore, btw), I knew you would like it! I got stopped a lot wearing that shirt! And several CMs knew the artist, which was cool! I think Chewie will hug you either way! Love the Vadar Picasso one - very cool! I'll need to go look at he AT-AT one... I really want to get the Admiral Akbar shirt! I'm a big Haunted Mansion fan too, so I particularly love this series!

My son has this shirt...it's a storm trooper riding a narwhal like it's a horse, through a rainbow. It's the goofiest shirt, but he loves it. That one will be making the trip!

I was in a panic that I overslept this morning. Jumped on the computer, checked for packages. Checked hours, checked fps. Nope, No, Nada. Disney did not disappoint.

On the plus side I successfully passed off a sold out PPO Akershus ressie. There has been no availability, and I held on in the hopes that Disney would pull a miracle out of their hoo-ha and FEA would be ready. I listed it early March as available, then never got around to dropping it. When I was contacted last night about it, I had to check to make sure I still had it. She got it, and that made me happy! Every ADR or fp I have passed off has been done so successfully. Last trip I helped a dad with fps for A&E and BOG ressies.

I got that email and was expecting something revolutionary. Pretty much the only new info in it was Mission Space moving back to Tier 1 in May.

What I want to know is the date for making 4+ via the app/website

Awww. So cute. Our DDs are getting their BBB the day before. Maybe they will still have some glitter. Most of what I've heard about the Chewie M&G is that he's awesome. I can't wait to meet him!

I may have purchased it last night. It makes me ridiculously happy. Thank you on the avatar. I used to make them regularly back in my LiveJournal days.

So many fun t-shirts out there. I got my son one with 4 panels of cartoon Luke, 3PO, Vader, and R2. I'm not sure he will ever wear it but it could happen.
