Rumors of Light (ROL discussion thread)

Ive been doing my best at keeping up with these posts so I apologize if this was already thoroughly explained....

With this extra hours thing, is it safe to say that it's pretty identical to EMH except there is a fee and non-Disney report ppl can go?

And is it also safe to say that all of the strategic planning I did to plan for our May trip is somewhat screwed for our MK day because it now falls on one of these extra hours days? Because now im picturing floods of ppl pouring in at like 7pm and the parade, fireworks, etc now being much more crowded than anticipated.

Well, it has complimentary ice-cream. Any other extras that could potentially be included have not been mentioned, as far as I know...

Some others have been speculating that as well. I guess it depends on how many tickets they offer and how many people purchase them. No way to really know until it is in effect.

So I've been monitoring the park hours with a website that allows you to monitor a portion of a web page for changes and today I got an email saying the page I was monitoring had changed but when I went and looked the hours were the same. I think the tool monitors an image of the page rather than actual content but I don't remember anything looking different. I wonder if there were some back-end changes in preparation for either the new later hours or the after-hours events at MK.

Anywho... since this thread gets riled up over the littlest things I figured I'd let y'all know.

The After Hours event will have free ice cream.

I don't know if it's "safe to say" that your planning was for nothing, but I definitely share the same concern for one of my planned MK days. We really won't know until this starts to roll out (maybe sooner if Disney decides to announce what kind of number they plan to limit these tickets to).

This is me as well. I don't care that they are there after 11, but i am not happy that after selecting a thur for lower crowds so we can see parade and fw with a few LESS people that we will now have 1000's more to deal with.

Call me crazy, but if they let in say, 3,000 people at 7:45 a.m., how many times could you really ride three rides by 9 a.m?? Once each?

Hopefully that means they are working on something and we'll see some official changes to AK hours soon. If you want to avoid the false alarms, the Dibb has a tool that will e-mail you when park hours change: http://www.thedibb.co.uk/forums/parkhours.php?hours=04+2016

I switched our MK days because of this. Don't want to deal with this, especially since the Wishes FP+ is gone now, too! Luckily we have the luxury of switching since we have 10 day passes but I can understand how it really puts a damper on people's plans .

It's not safe to say anything. It sounds like EMH but apparently will not be identical. Info released to travel agents indicates that it may take the first hour after closing to fully clear the park of all non-participants (EMH doesn't clear the park but denies admittance to attractions to anybody not staying onsite) and that the capacity will be smaller than the Halloween/Christmas parties (but does not indicate how much smaller). Whether there will be "floods of people" will depend on how many tickets they sell and nobody can hazard a guess as to how many tickets they will sell at this time.

" [NOTE: Disney Resort Guests will continue to be able to enjoy Extra Magic Hours, while this new event takes place on different dates and is another option for enjoying Magic Kingdom.]"

They blog has heard the outcry that this is the end of EMH.
