What is the best way to be checking for the FPs (RoL and nighttime safari), now that I have my FP planned the only way I know to check is to go in and try to modify them, and that's kind of a pain.

That's it exactly...just like trying to see if there are any dining packages available....you have to keep checking and checking and checking and checking... pain is normal now. I won't know what I will do with my extra time if I DO ever get something reserved!! HA HA HA

That's what I've been doing - it is a pain, but not sure what else to do!

There's also speculation Soarin could reopen around that time but with the old movie because they don't want to show the new one until it debuts in Shanghai. That would really throw a wrench in my plans because I wrote Soarin off and changed one of my Epcot days to a PM half day, planning to use my FP at DHS. Hmmmm.....

From who? The information coming out this week from the "sources" are saying that it will open in mid June at both US parks, after it opens in Shanghai. They had a deal that Shanghai would have it first. They are supposed to open June 16 so best guess is at least the 17th.

Just speculation. Because I guess there are rumors that the expansion will be done by end of May but yes, new show can't show until June 17. So speculation is they *may* reopen early with the old film and switch the film on June 17.

There would be no reason to open ahead of time with the old film. Not only would guests be even more disappointed but logistically why would they go through all the work just for a few weeks? It's not like you are just switching out a DVD. The gliders have to be programmed and calibrated with the new movie. CM are going to be spending some time "flying" while they test all of it. It would make no sense to go through all that, change it, change it again, go through all that again. And we have the smells to switch out as well.

And if Frozen "land" opens the end of May the last thing they need is more chaos in that park those first few weeks.

I assume A&E would also be removed from FOF parade as well then?????

Why? Parades and Meet & Greets have nothing to do with each other.
There are lots of characters in the parade you can not meet during a normal park day or without spending extra money for parties/meals.
All the Princes, Flynn Rider (very popular), Beast (very popular), 3 Fairies, 7 Dwarfs (very popular), Pinocchio, Olaf and lately missing Wendy, Hook & Smee ... and all the other characters walking.
For kids who are content waiving at A&E, likely their parents are not getting in the M&G line anyway.
Putting them back in Epcot only will get those young families who have to meet them to go to Epcot.

That's interesting. The original opening was set at 1st of May for both. I heard FEA is pretty much complete and to expect soft openings any day now (Next couple of weeks). However the M&G had some delays but the latest there looks as if they've gotten a wiggle on but still looks a fair few weeks off.

They are independent of each other so could be a split opening. The 27th does sound feasible for FP though. As I'm sure the first few weeks will be run as stand by only. 5 hour wait times for sure lol.

The May 1st opening day went out the window last fall. By December they were already telling CMs they were on target for May 21st. Without too much since a guess would be they were trying to keep to that as close as possible. An image showed up on CM HUB showing the May 27th opening date for FEA. I would expect soft openings in May.

Just as a comparison, 7DMT had their official opening date announced less than 30 days out. FP+ bookings for opening day started that night. They did do soft openings the couple weeks before it officially opened with it steady open a few days early. So the 60 day FP+ thing may not happen if they aren't 1000% sure they will make their date.

Yes they can open the two independently but I do not believe that was the plan and they have over 2 months to finish the M&G so completely feasible to open together.

Not to add more conjecture but I thought I saw somewhere a picture of the new A&E meet/greet and it showed in the drawing A&E dressed in the green dresses from frozen fever. I wonder if they'll keep the MK meet and have them dressed as in frozen fever at EP. Just a thought.

I know this is really grasping at straws, and I don't know when this update was made (hadn't checked since Friday afternoon), but on the TA calendar for Animal Kingdom, the hours haven't changed, but there used to be this weird line that said "Parade - Dark" under the operating hours (at least for April) that has been removed and there's a clear break in the "bolded box" below the AK operating hours now that appears to be setting up for expanded information (presumably, nightly ROL show times).

Not much of an update, but a sign things are at least starting to move it appears?
