Rumors of Light (ROL discussion thread)

I agree !! Sad thing is that i believe one of the posts from The Dibb stated that the dining packages won't be available to book until 5/1 !!

This was part of the initial Dibb post that listed the restaurants (FTB and TH) as well as the prices, and starting date of 4/22 - Don't know if this means dining packages will start on 5/1 OR The ADRs/booking will start on 5/1, which would be very sad, but not surprising at this point !!

Looked to be pretty official ---

<< Rivers of Light Dining Packages are available beginning May 1. Advance reservations for the Rivers of Light Dining Package are highly recommended and can be made up to 180 days prior to your visit. >>

If they open the new FEA ride around the 1st of May, will the WS hours change or will they still open at 11?
What will happen if you already have fast passes at MK?
Nice! Something else to worry about. Thanks Disney! Glad I'm hitting the beach in 2 weeks; I need to de-stress.
Yet more questions no one knows an answer to.
It's possible they'll decide to open Norway early. They could since they already have it set up to let guests in to the Norway area for breakfast at Akershus.

My current predictions - It looks like Disney updates their TA calendars once a month around the 15th. I think April 15th they will announce the hours, the FP+, and dining packages for the regular ROL all at once. For me, that means the week before we leave, and the day before opening day for baseball, I will get to make a mad scramble to finalize my Animal Kingdom days. Everything else for this trip is nicely planned already. My ADRs and FP+ are organized, and my touring plans with DAS plans are done.
No, they do not update on the 15th only. They updated April hours over the weekend and March had updates last week. October hours also came out over the weekend.
The hours are changed constantly and have no set dates for it to happen.

Omg. I can't handle any more snow! Where do you guys live? We are in Erie PA which is generally the snow capital of the world (or at least in my eyes it has to be, cause we get a heck of a lot of snow) -- But it has been somewhat mild towards the end of the winter here.
I'm only about an hour east of you in Ohio here and was thinking the same. This whole winter has seems mild for the most part, other than a few real good storms. I traded my minivan this year for a jeep Cherokee because I got sick of sliding and demanded I get 4 wheel drive. I still haven't used it......but don't want to see it now for sure

We're in a suburb of Boston. It's been a fairly mild winter, and generally speaking, I don't trust March as it always seems to throw you a curveball. but really I can't complain. Compared to last winter, this hasn't been so bad! Last year, my neighborhood was a rat maze of snow banks - and we still had dirty snowbanks hanging around late into spring - yuck!

NYC, NY here

Yes there are 2 on all three nights. I think I agree with a lot of PP's conjecture, I think there will be a lot of media and VIPs in attendance that night, I think that will make up the rest of the bulk of people in attendance.
So maybe the 4000 are only allowed to attend the first show?

The HUB info just lists 2 RoLs with no further info.

Haha!! When I first moved here I drove a 13 year old car (beat up college car) that was horrible in the sun let alone the snow, I nearly slid off the interstate on my way home from work after getting 18 inches of snow during the work day. I bought an SUV a few weeks later for fear of my life! But this winter has been so great, it makes me hate the snowy winters here a little bit less!!

Also, my fiance works in Conneaut OH and his parents live in Cortland. :)

I have heard rumors that FEA will open at 9, but who knows?!
Anything is possible, but that would really shock me.

Especially with all the nickel and diming now.

If they never decided to open Puffin's Roost early with that MOB SCENE for A&E,I just don't see them doing it now,but with The Mouse you NEVER know!lol:)

I looked back at page one... ArielSRL started this whole thread on Feb. 23, and some of us have been diligently checking, reporting in, monitoring at all hours of the day every day, every night, since then. Others have joined our quest along the way, but this thread has stayed positive the whole time, with only a few who voiced their opinions about how deranged we all are...and most of those nay-sayers have either gone to quietly lurking, or just left. Some post regularly, and some not so regularly, but at the end of the day, we all have the same hopes: whether it's Preview nights, ADRs or FP+s, we ALL WANT TO SEE RIVERS OF LIGHT!

I just wanted to say:thanks: to all who have shared both the little information they have found, or other colorful topics. It's all good!!

Well done, everyone!! We just have to hear something soon...Maggie promised me!

I did my usual refresh as I passed by the computer to check for anything new at DP Blog.
Kinda crazy, it automatically took me to RunDisney. They must be messing with something.

That is written in an annoyingly vague way, however I read it as the dining packages themselves will start May 1st, but they don't give a specific start date for ADRs (just like they haven't for FPs) - just that they're recommended, lol! Tell us something we don't know! Again, I am not an expert in the ways of Disney communication, that's just how it reads to me.

Hate to look stupid What is the DIBB? :confused3

We drove to Disney for thanksgiving and just prayed for no snow, and it as wonderful this year. But a few years ago, we hit an ice storm in WV that I was sure we wouldn't survive, WV is hard enough to drive in sunny weather. This we we decided to go back to September.
DH told me it's more like an hour and a half to Erie from here, were in concord ( mentor) He works in Geneva-closer to you.

We are March 21st today... I still can't wrap my brain around the fact that Disney is leaving so much information up in the air for a grand opening that is now only a month away. If there are glitches, why not just come out and admit the 'why and wherefore', instead of frustrating a huge crowd of people with no news, no updates, no new park hours, no nothing? Honestly, Disney created this 'having to plan every minute of my trip' monster in the first place, and I feel extremely frustrated by their silence and (what I'm starting to perceive as) dismissive attitude towards us. Also, it would certainly take some pressure off the shoulders of the phone CMs, including poor lovable Maggie, if they new exactly what was going on. Bad, bad form on Disney's part. Delays happen, but explanations should be included.
