Rumors of Light (ROL discussion thread)

When we were there I made my girl stay away from the water lol. I was also on guard walking down the walkway to and from TTC and the Poly because it just seemed like the perfect place for a snake to slither through. At night I wondered what was hiding in all the shrubs:rotfl:

Oh man. We are staying at the Poly next month and I hadn't thought about snakes... at least now I'll be on the lookout, I guess!

There is a large one in a backstage pond area near Space Mountain. They have tried relocating him several times, but he always finds his way back.

As far as during the show, I would expect that there will be enough of a disturbance they will stay away and the message will get out via gator word that that is no longer a good place.

Still, when you perform outdoors you have to be prepared. Snakes pretty regularly make appearances in Unto These Hills and The Lost Colony in NC. And it isn't a Shakespeare in the Park summer without appearances by raccoons!

I was in Orlando once when a raccoon walked into the Walgreens I was at.

This whole :offtopic: but fascinating conversation has me thinking about how naïve I am! I mean, I associate FL with alligators, but it never occurred to me that they'd be hanging out in Frontierland or checking out Stormalong Bay! Clearly I need to pay more attention!
You and me both! When I first heard about the Splash Mountain gator I was beside myself!

I know the one time I stayed at CSR I was trying to get the first EPCOT bus to make Dolphins in Depth (long story there - forgot my ID, realized it as I was getting off the bus and the driver took me on a private trip back and waited while I bolted for it), and we could see all the busses stopped on the road. Turns out there was a gator ambling across the road they had to wait for.

And even ducks aren't all innocent at Disney. One time we heard a racket down a side path and investigated to see ducks giving a couple of small children a lesson in the birds and the bees - only the female did NOT seem too pleased at the situation.

Yes! We stayed at CSR in September 2014 and there was a bridge over a lake(? maybe it's not a lake, I forget) and there was a gator right there in the water.

Since we have been talking about nothing - thought I'd add that I started a pre trip report for our Aulani/Disneyland trip this September if anyone is interested. ;) I have no clue what I am doing when it comes to Aulani/Disneyland though LOL
Have you been to DL before?? I went with my family for the first time in 15+ years for the SW Light Side Half in Jan. I felt TOTALLY lost in my planning as a WDW vet, but all went beautifully and we had a FANTASTIC time!! :)

I have not! My fiance has been but he was 7 so he doesn't remember much. I feel a little lost in the planning, I just want to see everything. We only have 2 park days so I think we will just see what we can and enjoy ourselves and not stress!! I am really excited to see World of Color.
