Rumors of Light (ROL discussion thread)

Per various websites ( and this could just be a rumor) --- the delay seems to have something to do with the
"Tusker House" dinner menu --- additional chefs have to be hired to recreate these speciality items -
Surveys are now being sent randomly to Disney guests asking if they think the
"ROL" package menu would be too expensive at $50 per person ( DDP not accepted) for the entree and dessert offering.

This pic has apparently been attached to the survey --- thoughts ???

Holy cow, you guys!! I haven't been on for a few hours and there are about 10 pages of utter crazy....so sad to have missed it, but it's hilarious to read through after the fact. Loved the photos of Maggie! Poor dear, if she only knew how much we love her!

So sorry to hear about lost jobs, sick kids, and other real life downers! I sure hope all works out for everyone. I'll be checking in again bright and early....talk more tomorrow!!

not RoL but some updated info on the night safari from the HUB:

How is the new “nighttime safari” different than Kilimanjaro Safaris? This is not a new attraction, just an extension of the operating hours of Kilimanjaro Safaris. Because of that, it shouldn’t be referred to as a new experience.

As I wait for midnight to futilely check for any updates on ROL, FP or anything, I thought of something based on the information in this post. I know it is all speculation until something is actually released, but hoping for some opinions from the ROL support group. If the nighttime safari is not considered a different attraction, how will FP be handled? Do we think it will be separated for FP purposes or just after sunset, it's considered the sunset safari and goes on the different route? Will it be possible to book a daytime FP and a nighttime FP for the safari or will I have to pick one? I tried making some FP reservations on a random day just to see if I could book 2 safari FP on 1 day but didn't see a way to do it. Am I missing the way to book 2 FP for the same attraction in a single day or is that not possible? The safari is one of my favorite rides so I know I will want to experience day and nighttime. Thanks for your opinions!

I am searching "dinner" with no other restrictions, a date in late July and party size 8, get the same table service message. Oh, and am logged in now.

The speculation is around whether the safari will be listed as a different attraction in the daytime and evening--there's no way to book more than one FP+ for an attraction in advance. And based on what we're seeing about the safari, my guess is it'll be classified as the same attraction. You could theoretically book a morning safari, use your 3 advanced FP+ reservations, and then try to book the safari again as your 4th pick. But if you're going in the next, say, 6-9 months, I don't think I'd risk it. Book evening FP+s, and be at rope drop to do the daytime safari with lower wait times. Just my thoughts...we'll have a better sense when (if) Disney releases anything!
