Rumors May Be True!

Just tried to see if the rates for 2008 are available and could not open the page.Its says unavailable until 7.00 am.

Well, I did it. I stayed up until Midnight to see if the June 23rd rumors were true. It's been said that the 2008 rates would be out on the 23rd. I was told by a Disney reservationist that the computers are updated every evening at Midnight. So.......I stayed up until Midnight to see if I could book a 2008 package. When you visit the www.disneyworld.com site, it says the system is unavailable as it is being updated and will be back up at 7:00 a.m.

So....I am going to bed now but am going to try the site again at 7:00 a.m.

I had read what you wrote on the other thread and was staying up too. I saw the same message and can't wait to wake up and check again after 7am!! (6 our time!)

The rumor in question is whether or not they are releasing rates for 2008 today. Seemed to have some validity to it since the system was down for upgrades last night (and still is now - ergh).

For those of us trying to plan a vacation next year it could be exciting news!!

And yes, they have historically raised rates for each upcoming year. We're just waiting to see how much that will be...

I went ahead and flled out the reservation request form and here's the word for word response I got back (within an hour after sending the request and prior to 7:00 a.m.):

Dear Lisa,

Thank you for contacting the Walt Disney World Resort.

Each year, our Product Development Department reviews all components
offered under each package name. This determines the packages and
components included for the following year. At this time, packages
beyond 2007 have not been announced. Please check back in the Summer of
2007 for updated information.

If you have questions or need further assistance, feel free to contact
us.

Please include your full name, E-Mail address, and reservation number if
applicable on all correspondence.

LOL - I work in IT. I know how upgrades go. Right now there are quite a few people sweating about missing their deadline!! Kind of feel bad for them

You can't get into any reservation page. You can't check rates for the free ddp, you can't check rates for AP holders. Seems they got the whole system down.

I just called and spoke to a CM who said the rates are not out and that the package rates won't be out unitl early August!!! I tried!!

Still Unavailable at 8:24 CST or 9:24 EST...My dh works in IT also, so I know what pp means about missing the deadline. Must be a big upgrade.
