Anyone hear of any rumors that park ticket prices will decrease? Geesh! It's getting too expensive for us to go!

Nothing about any reductions.

They did a few years ago when they went to the MYW tickets. Before that almost all multi-day tickets where Park Hoppers and No Expire. When they made them into options they did reduce prices for base tickets.

I noticed that "Disneyland Tickets" was one of the top searches on Yahoo over the weekend and I couldn't figure out why.

I'm also not too sure that charging slightly less for a product of significantly less quality/value can be considered a "reduction" either

Anyone hear of any rumors that park ticket prices will decrease? . . .

If they did,
. . . Ogre (aka, Iger) would jump out of his Gucci loafers
. . . Crofton would be forced to sell newspapers on the corner
. . . Walt would smile for the better treatment of guests

Do you really think Iger wants his bonus reduced?

A reduction in prices would be great, not likely, but a 30% discount in September or Free Dining would be nice surprise as well too...PLEASE!!!!! Going back to the World in Septmeber 2012!

It would be highly doubtful that if they ever did lower the price of tickets, it wouldn't be anything more than a token discount, and that wouldn't get people who've already given up on Disney because of the rising costs of those tickets (and everything else).

I think Disney had to tread lightly...raising ticket by $2 can easily lose customers - but lowering it $2 isn't likely to get them back.

How about bringing back the Length of Stay pass.

It would be mandatory for any package which includes dining (other than if each person in the group has an AP) or for any "free" dining, (even for people with APs). It would be optional for reservations which do not include dining.

Only four options are available
A. Valid for park entry on day of arrival
B. Valid for park entry on day of departure
C. Hopping
D. WPF&M

For late arrival do not select A, for early departure do not select B.

Ticket can only be upgraded to add A, B, C, and/or D. Ticket can be upgraded to any level of AP the person is eligible to purchase.

The ticket will expire at Midnight of the day prior to checkout unless Option B is purchased. The ticket will expire at Midnight of the day of checkout if Option B is purchased. The ticket will expire even if it has not been run through a turnstile. A No Expire option will not be possible.

Maybe, it's time for an overhaul of the Magic Your Way Ticket concept. Lot's of hard working Americans are being priced out of the market. Imagine of all those families with small children being deprived of a magical vacation.

Disney was never...nor meant to be...affordable for everybody.

if it were...there would be clones within driving distance in every geographic area.

disney has "lost" people because:

a. they are a public traded supercorporation - which means 90% of their goal is stock price - by definition.
b. they took an economic meltdown, tightened up and increased prices to attempt to preserve prior boom profits - which were artificial numbers created by stock booms, then tech booms, then real estate recklessness - while ignoring the fact that it never should have made that much money during those periods in the first place
c. because it is a public company...all the management personnel are nothing more than glorified accountants and lawyers. And if they are too stupid to actually be accountants or lawyers, they are zombies who have been trained like dogs to do nothing by cost cut...just cut the cost...all else will work out.
d. we reward them for their cheapskate antics...all of us that support the place. Every single one. we accept all cheapening and pay all rates they put on us...gladly, for a week in the sun.

I am most guilty because i am aware of what has happened steadily in the last 15 years...as many of us have.

It sure as heck isn't "magic"...it's "internal profit/loss analysis" and...my favorite "revenue control".

And those that can't afford to go to disney parks? They would like to have them...but on their terms. You have a set dollar value assigned to your presence on vacation...and its only negotiable upwardly.
Remember, they make more money pound for pound selling toys in isle 12 at walmart and selling ads for horrid NBA games on ESPN...they don't fret who can't come.

Happy Holidays.
