Rumored deals???

just read on touring plans that they pulled the deal until it becomes available later this week. Darn, was just deciding on moving up to Moderates and giving them a call :confused3

I read this post and that was why I was confused.

I, too, had no issues with applying the 4/3 deal to my reservation today. Although, mine is more the 4/2 deal as I'm staying for 6 nights not 7.

Exactly! People who go to WDW are in many different situations. I like that Disney offers so many options to try to accomodate as many people as possible. Not just the family of 4 who want the DDP and want to stay at a value resort. It seems that there are a lot of people in that situation on this board. Unfortunatly they sometimes try to project their situation on the rest of us.

For my upcoming trip I considered staying at POP to save money, but the more I thought about it the more I realized I really wouldn't be happy if I wasn't at my Wilderness Lodge. I'm mentally at the point now where if I can't stay at the WL for 40% off (+/-) I won't go this year. I just can't justify rack rate in this economy when there should be awesome discounts.

I'm just getting kind of tired of people making the blanket statement of "oh free dining is the best!" when in reality it is the best only for them and people like them. And whether they say it or not that almost always means 3-4 "Disney adults" staying at a value. Most times when I've gone to WDW I've been traveling with one other adult and staying at WL. Hello - there are a lot of us out here who don't stay in values. Free dining is not the best for us. Frankly, (and I can take the flames) I would love it if free dining was never offered again! It would make it easier for the rest of us who like an occasional TS meal to get ADRs.

I'm glad the free dining lovers love their free dining. But there are many of us that it doesn't benefit, like those of us who aren't interested in the dining plan in the first place. Or who are smaller parties staying at deluxe resorts. Does every thread about rumored discounts have to be hijacked by so many people going on and on about free dining?

I am sorry that people feel like they have to post negative things on these boards. I am getting ready for our first family trip to Disney. We are so excited to experience the magic of disney. When the free dining came out we were so excited to have it. We are a family of 7. So the savings for us were unbelievable. Yes, our family does eat out when we are at home, but the idea of being able to stop, relax, and eat on our vacation is not offensive to those of you who want to spoil the excitement of those that are hoping for free dining.

As for your statement about how people who stay at "value resorts" are the only ones that want free dining....you serously need to slow down and not worry about what they can and can't afford. Before the free dining was offered for our trip our vacation was priced at around $6000 and with the dining we saved $1400!! They want the disney magic as much as you do. It is a vacation and we should just be happy to be at disney. You really should be easy with your words. People are on these boards to be excited about their trips and their future trips. Start being thankful for the things that you have not hateful about the things people are hoping for. :confused3

Well, after an hour on the phone with a CM, I wasn't able to save ANY of my clients $$ with the 4/3 deal. I guess if you want CL MK view at the CR, it's going to be really hard to get a better deal than free dining. :goodvibes Also, the cabins & Old Key West weren't available for 2 other clients. For my guests staying value, the free dining was much better.

All my guests going next spring are only going 5 days at a value. I can't justify paying for 2 more nights of dining plan to get the extra nights, especially when travel is tight already. Here's looking for a GREAT room only discount to come out a bit later!

Yay. Got 4/3 deal applied to Jan 3-10. Marathon wasn't blacked out. Standard room at WL. Didn't need code or Disney Visa. Just called at 11:00 CST and was on hold for about 10 minutes. Not bad.:cool1:

Thats what we are trying to decide. Upgrade would be a better deal for us then the values, but we really want to do 5 nights only so , free dinign would have been awesome.

But i hope they release some Room only deals in Oct for Jan-Mar :thumbsup2 that will be the deal clencher for us!!!

We are 2A 1C staying 7 nights at a moderate and the 4/3 Deal was $50 more that FD for our stay. I imagine if we were doing deluxe it woul dbe a better deal than free dinig, but we are just at that "break even" point between the two deals. Oh well!

Speculation, please...after all it's what we do best, isn't it :) ...does anyone think the reason for the early release is to give the Disney folks more time to gauge the reaction to the 7/5 or 7/4 deals? And that they're leaving themselves plenty of time to offer a free dining code for Jan-Mar at a later date? Just a thought...Why else release a deal so early, if it's not as good as last year's?

That's a really good price. I just booked WL woods (although I asked for standard and my ressie says woods...) room from Jan. 23-30 with 7 day hopper pass and dining plan and it came to $3120.

Did you get a bunch of vouchers too, for mini-golf, spa etc?

Acutally, double checking my ressie and it says 8 day park pass...I'll have to call in and change that to 7.
That is actually what my price was I missed by $10 when posting. I got my confirmation but it does not show my deposit does yours? I also got all those freebies but we never use them. I figured it was about $157 more for a week with a woods view. We like to eat B'fast out on the balcony so it is worth it to not look at the roof and parking lot. Had Courtyard last year and it was awesome but did it once and that was enough.

GOT IT!

Wonderful CM helped me.

Here's the details:

1BR Villa at Boardwalk Villas Feb. 5 - 12 (7 nights) w/ 7 day base ticket
Original deal: Booked myself with AAA discount and plan to purchase AAA tickets, New deal: Package 7 nights w/7 day base ticket

$3,857.75 old price
$3.020.41 new price
-----------
$837.34 total savings :cheer2:

Now, I have to pay off the package by 12/22 :headache: Good thing they can let us extend a week or so before they cancel!!

Good luck everyone.

FYI - no 2BR villas available for my dates at BW or BC. He offered to check SSR and OKW, but we definitely want Epcot area.

Hurray! Just got the deal for CSR for January 6-13 for a king bed room for our Marathon Weekend/Honeymoon trip. :lmao: We were originally paying $2035 for 7 nights with 4 day park hoppers, but now we're down to $1417 with 7 day park hoppers! :cool1:

Im not real impressed with this offer, but I did book us March 13-20th at POR. It is saving us about $711 if we to want to book the same deal regular price. Although we dont need the tickets, its a good enough savings to go ahead and do it this way. Our party consists of 2 ad, 12 yr old, 9 yr old and 2 yr old. Here is our breakdown I figured:

7 day POR with 7 day base tkt and dining (no discount) $3613.40

7 day POR with 7 day bast tkt and dining (buy4/7) $2902.39

Total savings 711.01

The only things I dont like about this deal is
1. Would be nice to get the gift card again this time
2. The take the highest rate for your room all week, where just booking our room, it would be $210 for 2 nights and $195 for the other 5, they charged us $228 per night for the room.

It is nice to see deals through Disney and it excites me to book another Disney vacation, already, but was hoping for a little better deal, atleast as good as last years.

We are staying at a value, so I've decided the 5/2 deal is just not worth it for us. We have not booked yet though. I am wondering if I need to hurry up and book now that this deal has been released. Do I run a greater risk of it being hard to book a room because of this promo?

Now, the CM said "the system isn't taking the new codes yet so she's gonna call her systems guy and get it fixed up." Their computer wasn't taking the reservation. We have to call back in an hour and just make sure it took. Hm. :rolleyes1

Called once, had a very unfriendly CM tell me there was no such deal, but called again and had Dottie, a wonderful CM tell me it was wonderful I wanted to take advantage of the deal. POFQ Jan 14-21, 8 Day Park Hopper for 1298. She told me the rooms were filling up insanely quickly, and this was the last standard room at a moderate for my dates. Now I just have to figure out a way to pay by Nov. 30th! hahaha. So excited. :cool1:

Not a good deal for me. Deluxes are gone. My current rate at YC CL is 2060 for 4 nights w/ tix. Then I was paying 414 for 2 nights AKL CL (no way that deal will ever be seen again!). so my total rate 2474 for 6 nights. Just called disney ALL they have in deluxes is YC Waterview (no club level) for 2693. So it will cost me 225 to switch to the deal, I gain a night but lose club level for the entire stay! So costing me to switch and losing club...no deal for me...

We already had a room at WL reserved, so all we had to do was apply it. She said there were several available for our dates 1/3-10 there. But then again, we're calling back now to get this computer glitch figured out. Grr.

How are you figuring your price through the online system? You can't get an accurate estimate online if you're buying a dining plan. What you'll get is the price for 4 nights with the tickets you want plus 4 nights of dining. You still need to add in the additional 3 nights of dining to that cost to figure out your full price. That could account for the difference in your online estimate compared to what the CM is telling you. Make sure to manually add in the cost of the dining for those additional 3 nights.

I just plugged in a 4 night package with park hopper tickets online. Then I figured out the price of the dining plan at $43 for adults and $12 for kids and added that total (dining for 7 nights) to the price quote online for a 4 night package without dining. My numbers are coming out a few hundred dollars lower. I am sure I am in error, but darned if I can find it!

Here is my 2 cents...

The economy is rebounding...supposedly?

But Disney...they need money now.

So...$200 here...and $200 there...if they know they are going to offer it, might as well do it... so that they can boost this quarter's earnings...in the hopes that as the economy rebounds they will be able to continue to see increased bookings.

Anybody have any thoughts on the chances of this offer being extended into April and May????
