Rumor: Upcharge for early entry may be coming

I could see this going over pretty well at DLR because most trips are shorter and because so many people have a time change advantage in the mornings.

It looks like a go for WDW but so far I haven't seen anything about it coming to DLR.

I'm pretty surprised we haven't seen more upsells on the DLR side of things.

How would they make this plausible in DL though? FP aren't THAT hard to get for rides there, in my opinion, and while Peter Pan does end up with a significant wait, I would see this being beneficial to Ca Adventure and RSR and TSM. Either way, I think its a great idea for WDW given the FP+ system and how hard some of those are to reserve.

I agree. I see this as more appealing at DCA for that very reason.

And you're right.... the limitations that came with FP+ make it much harder to reride headliners, so that makes this an easier sell there.

I still there there are some upsells coming to DLR as well. Maybe they will be more along the lines of the Jungle Cruise one last fall. I'm curious how that shook out for Disney in terms of viability and profitability.

I had heard about this for WDW, but is it really viable for DLR?

As a previous poster said, I'd consider it worthwhile if the whole park was accessible during this time, but if it's the same areas that are currently open for EMH, no dice for me.

There is also a new thing at WDW where you can pay extra to get into the parks for the last few hours or something. As I understand it, you can buy a ticket *just* for that, like with the Halloween party but the other guests won't have to leave. They are going to try this out next month, I think. $149 pp!! https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/events-tours/magic-kingdom/disney-after-hours/

Enjoy Magic Kingdom park in the dark at an after-hours special event featuring many of your favorite attractions and Characters.

That Jungle Cruise breakfast was a pretty penny though....at least this and the after hours extra park tickets aren't inconceivable, though at DLR I don't know how many people would pay for them. I'd be more apt to do the after hours one because I think an empty park at night is far more appealing than in the morning.

The after hours one at WDW is $149. While not Jungle Cruise crazy, I definitely put it in the "pretty penny" category. ;)

True, but far more affordable than Jungle Cruise in my opinion lol for an adult only trip I would do it in a heartbeat!

I would pay to not stand in line in the morning it is crazy waiting 20 minutes after the gate opens to finally get through.
If they had a exclusive gate I could go through I would definitely pay for it and a hour early would pay for that.

I was there in November and it was insane waiting for them to check everyone's picture or take their picture and one family could hold up the line for 10 minutes.

In Florida your through in 5 minutes even if its a big line.

This is just another way for DL to make more money so it will probably happen in some form or another. But the few rides that will be available will probably have hour long wait times so I don't see much of an advantage for the consumer. I think we will pass.

So just like early entry? :p

I thought Magic Morning was basically this without the buffet. The "upcharge" is forcing you to buy a 3+ day ticket.

This is a WDW thing. I guess it could come to Disneyland, but I don't see it in the near future. WDW has lots of "experiences" available that are not at Disneyland. It's essentially a breakfast buffet with special ride access. Disneyland does not currently have the "ride power" for this kind of thing. I could see a special Carsland Breakfast. That may have a big draw for some people, but I don't know. It's still only one major ride. WDW is advertising 3 popular rides.

I think that IF this happens at DL, it will be after SWL opens and will be a ticketed 'event' with limited numbers for access to SWL only. I can't see them 'selling' EMH on a daily basis to all guests. The article specifies that this will NOT be done on MK EMH days.

The WDW 'event' is, I think, to allow people to get in early and ride the 3 most popular FL rides. Tack on a few pancakes and charge $69.00 for a 'special event'.

And how do you feel about it if you know MK is offering a lot fewer EMH mornings this time of year than in years past?
