I just called Loews trying to get an RPR King Suite on the Club Floor for our trip in May. After being passed around a bit and on hold for a while, I was told first that no King Suites on the club floor were available (which I know to be wrong). Then, after being on hold forever, I was told that now the 6th floor of Tower 3 was going to be available to Club guests as well and did I want to pay $100 more a night for a King Suite with club access.

I said that it's more important for me to be on the 7th floor and so I'd forego a King Suite if it meant being on the 7th floor with the lounge. She said, "here's the thing. You could have a regular room and still be on the 6th floor with club access." The king suites on the 7th floor were blocked out for our dates (early May).

She said that Club had become so popular that they were turning "hundreds and hundreds" of people away (which I am quite sure is wrong, as we've never had a problem getting a club room, whether booked in advance or upgrading at the desk), so I'm not sure what to believe.

Anyone have the skinny?

Dont know but I am certainly hoping to have a king suite with lounge access in May

From what I understand, it's never been a problem to get a King Suite with Club Access, but your suite may not be on the same floor, and the lounge may not be convenient to your room. This was even before my phone calls yesterday. The extra $100 per night I was quoted seems to be pretty standard in my experience.

For example, if you had a King Suite, you could tell them that you wanted to add club access, but you may not necessarily be on the 7th floor, or even in Tower 3. They will gladly charge you the extra $$ for lounge access. What seems to be lacking is a way to "book" a King Suite with Club Access that is actually convenient to the Royal Club Lounge.

I dont mind the walk as I need the extra room with my 3 kids. With the prices that are charged in Orchid Court Lounge it will be cost effective for us. I just love the elevators in the RPR always full of some sort of scientist convention ;) Makes me feel great stepping in the elevator in a bikini with a few suits talking NASA :rotfl:

One of my biggest battles when I stay at RPR is trying to get both the king suite upgrade as well as a complimentary club access key. I will be there this Friday night 1/6 and I already have the king suite upgrade secured. Now I am working on that wonderful club access key. I will inquire about them extending the 6th floor to include club level amenities while I am there. AlexandNessa is correct in that you don't have to be staying on the club floor to have club access. Despite what they may tell you they can in fact give you a key that is strictly for the elevator. The hard part is getting them to give you one without paying the $100 fee. If the hotel is full though they will not give out any access keys because they don't want the lounge getting too crowded. This weekend is supposed to be pretty empty though so I think I can swing it.

Ryguy, did you happen to find anything out about RPR expanding Club Level to the 6th floor? Did you get your complimentary club access? Hope you had a great trip!

I did get a club access key during my visit this past weekend. They could not give me a king suite on the club floor but I was able to get 3400 which has a nice view of the pool. When I asked about them expanding club amenities to the 6th floor they said it was still something they were considering and couldn't give a definitive answer.

Michelle Whittle was his replacement this past July. She was great and gave lots of personal attention to details of our stay.
