RUMOR HAS IT... (My Dec 2007 Disney Vacation)

Is it just me or is there a million Disney commercials on in a day? Every time I see one I get all emotional and want to go back. I really thought that this last trip would hold me over for a few years since I did so much this time, but now I know the more I go to Disney, the more I am going to want to go back. I don't know when I will get to go back. I just found out my brother and Lola are having a girl, so I figure by the time she is 4 years old I will be taking her. But really 4 years is a long time to wait, I am hoping to go back in less then 2 years.

Ty,

I hope to see your team compete today, but gues what? My DD woke up vomiting today and we hope to make it for her comp time of 6:08. Yikes! We thought we would spend most of the day there, but this is a new twist.

Best of luck to Reese! Go Raptors! I saw one other team with shorts and Ts and it didn't seem to be a big deal?

I know! What does Disney put in their water? It's seriously addicting! The more you go, the more you want! What have they done to us? I heard a lady talking about their recent trip today and it's like my ears perk up. Disney? Did someone say Disney?

:lmao: Oh I hear ya! I do the same thing and I have to bite my tongue to not jump in and tell about my trip  , although if they were true Disney lovers they would welcome me into their conversation with open arms:confused3 right?

I was telling my mom about how great the DIS is because its the only place that the people want to hear every single aspect of your trip down to what you ate!:rotfl:

I'm glad to hear your still with us!! I think the reason we want to keep going back is because it's our little way of escaping reality for a while.

Some days, reality bites!!

I have one more week and wrestling is over. I am SOOOOO happy! Next to track this has got to be the most boring sport, not when Matt is doing it, but waiting for him is KILLER! He has been doing both JV and Varsity so he has to be at everything.

Hi, just wanted to say I read your pre-trip and trip report this weekend.

Great job! :thumbsup2

Poohtigeey True, so true. And it's funny because if you weren't at Disney I couldn't care less about where and what you ate. Disney makes even the most ordinary thing special. Love it!!

ILMICKEY I need to go back to Disney and come home to a normal life. I feel like I came back from my trip and ended up in a parallel life. My world is upside down right now.
So glad that R.L. cheerleading is done, that frees up 3 evenings a week for me. I haven't even had time to scrapbook my trip yet.

Backstage Gal Hi right back at you, thanks for reading and posting, I am glad that you like it.

The alarm went off at 8:30am. I called Jim and we talked for a bit since he had a delay. He said he was dressing for winter that day. It was a chilly day there, he said the outside thermometer was reading 0. We said our goodbyes. I was missing him so much.

I stepped outside for a bit to try and get a feel for our temps for the day, it was already warm so I knew to wear shorts and a T that day. I had decided on blue shorts, my Eayore T-shirt, very berry lotion and pomegrante lipgloss. See how oraganized I was?

It didn't take Coach and I long to get ready. The girls did not want to wake up so I start telling them that they would now have a curfew and no more hanging out with the CM's since they couldn't handle waking up in the mornings. Again they tried to argue that they were on vacation and sleeping in was part of that. I told them when you pay decent money to go on vacation you have to suck up every pennies worth of enjoyment and even though we all enjoy sleeping in, that is something you can do at home for free.

I gave Coley her Birthday present hoping it would inspire to get up and out of bed. she sat up, which was a start, Reese and I had gotten her a bunch of scrapbooking things for her Disney Album, I guess she liked it, she kept saying thank you.

Reese finaly got up and started getting ready, she did the clothing dance for about 15 minutes then settle on jeans, a T-shirt and a hoodie, I told her she was goingt o be hot in that but she never listens to me.

Right before we were leaving I gave Coley her Birthday button, she pinned it on her shirt but her long hair hid it, I tried to convince her to move it but she wouldn't, I was thinking you are going to miss out on so much magic today.

We had made it to Magic Kingdom by 10:00am. I was excited for Coley to see the castle for the first time. i had her hand and told her to shut her eyes then I led her to the middle of main St. She opened her eyes and was quiet for a minute, then she said "Looks the same as it does on T.V. only better." I knew what she meant.

We got in line to meet Horace and Clarabell, Coach T knew who they were she just couldn't remember their names. I knew Clarabelle but not horace, Coley really didn't care, it was just another autograph and picture for the album.

We make our way down Main st. since it was Coley's B-day we left all the plans up to her. She wanted to ride Space Mountain first, so that is where we headed, the standby line said 15 minutes, so we jumped right in. There really wasn't a 15 minute wait though, just a 15 minute walk to get up to the ride itself. The girls got in the car in front of us. They liked going in front of us becauuse it made it easier for them to ditch us, I figured that out, they never waited for us at the end, even when we told them to, and they wouldn't answer their cell phones either, this was an on going thing the whole time we were there.

I rode in front of Coach, she screamed and laughed the whole time, as did I. When the ride was over I was surprised to find my voice a little raspy, that normally doesn't happen until the end of the day, this just meant I was having an awesome goood time. The ride seemed to last longer than i remembered, after every turn I'd think ok this is it but then we'd just keep going. I love that feeling, like at Christmas when you think you're done opening gifts then you find a present hidden in the tree skirt and you're like "oh, one more, this is nice." Also I don't remember the moving side walk on the way out, it was nice, it helped us catch up to the girls.

I think it's funny how after each ride we have to step to the side and relive the ride verbally, and we always say something like. "do you remeber the part where it shoots off to the left?" I mean duh! we were all just on it but we have to retell it as if somebody in our group missed a piece of the ride. So once our discussion group had wrapped up we headed over to TTA. this was something I did not do last time and I was uber looking forward to doing it.

There was a tiny line, it was a walking line though, those kind of lines are ok, you never really have to wait, the lady in front of us was asking her friend what the ride was all about and her friend said she had never ridden on it before, so they both turned to Coach and I, and at the same time we both said, "you get wet on this ride."

* coach and I have been rumored to share brain waves, people at the cheer gym joke and say we have a secret language that no one understands, we really just think alike at times. I am thinking these 2 ladies share brain waves too, because they both at the same time put their hands on their heads, like water was already dropping on them. We told them we were just kidding, I think they were a bit skeptical of us, it seemed like they were on guard with their jackets at the turn of each corner.

I have to say, I like that ride, it was relaxing, and I really liked going through Space Mountain. I took alot of pictures on that ride, and later at home when i was watching the video that Reese took of it you can tell we were having so much fun at times we are laughing so hard you can't even understand what we are saying. Ahhh good Times!

Buzz Lightyear was up next. There wasn't a wait for this at all, we just walked right on. I started shooting and racking up points right of the bat, Coach T was clueless and had a mere 1000 points to my 80,000 points and that was just a few minutes into the ride. She realized the only way to beat me was to cheat, so she just kept the car spinning at all times, I still managed to shoot something here and there, but she really messed with my A game. The ride stopped while we were in the tunnel and I was able to rack up more points, she wasn't able to spin us either, she accused me of cheating since I didn't tell her she could still shoot things. The ride started again and we finished up with me being the super winner with over 300,000 points and her being a big behind (that means trailing by many points) with only 23,000 points.

We disembarked the ride just in time to hear the CM ask Coley if she liked the ride, she said "yeah, my favorite part was when it went upside down." The cm fell on the floor laughing, I couldn't tell if he really thought it that funny or if he was being over sarcastic, either way we all got a kick out of it.

Next up Stitch's Great Escape, I had almost done this ride last time but got out of line for fear I would miss our ADR. So hear we are, clueless to the whole Stitch thing, I had heard it was smelly, but that's about all I knew. It started out really boring, i kep thinking, "wait for it, it's coming." and finally we get to load into our seats, we're all thinking "this is going to be violent, they really have us strapped in for safety here." I thought for sure we would spin or be bounced out of our minds, now I knw the restrainsts are to keep us from leaving, or from falling out of our chairs when we drift off to sleep out of boredom. The ride left us all doing this :confused3 that's 15 minutes of our lives that is gone forever, and trust me I want those 15 minutes back! I could do something so much better with those 15, like watch grass grow, or pluck out nose hairs, the list is endless. We were finally able to get off that ride, Coley was in such a hurry that she tripped over her own feet and broke her flip flop, so we spent some time looking for a place to buy new ones.

It was in Adventureland that we found a store with shoes for her and this is where I will stop for the night. I will be back soon with more, but I will leave you with a few insights to my next chapter.

Reese broke the Haunted Mansion...twice
Did the George experiment work?

:sad2: I normally have a tough time getting up in the morning but when at Disney I simply bounce out of bed ready to go. :cutie:

You are evil! :lmao:

I agree about Stitch, complete waste of space.

Lifelong Dreamer Sleeping in is something we do on a vacation to our cabin or my sisters place in Tawas, but not at Disney! no way no how! I hope one day Reese will understand, maybe when she has kids and takes them to Disney. You just don't want to waste a second.

 I am the same way as you Ty.

We went to adventureland looking for new flip flops for Coley, of course in my mind I am thinking about all this time wasted, but after all it is her Birthday and she is working with only one shoe now so I suck it up and keep smiling. She did at one time complain that it was pretty crowded and feared we wouldn't get to do everything we wanted to, I told her that is why it is important to get up early and try and make rope drop. She thought I was mad at her, I wasn't, not at all, and I kept telling her, "This is your day, do as you please, cause Lord knows I will have my way on my Birthday."

She found some nice flip flops, very sturdy, they should hold up the rest of the day. After a quick potty stop we head over to POC. I was ready to see the new updates, wanted to judge for myself if they were all that great. We got in line and as we were passing a Pirate CM Reese said "how you doing there sir?" He answered "pretty good", Reese the big flirt says back, "Yeah, cause you're looking pretty good." This guys face lit up and he said , you guys are in the wrong line step over here, we think nothing of it and just follow the ropes till we hit the boats, we jump right on and notice that there are people waiting in a longer line, we breifly wondered why we didn't have to wait in that one, it was just a brief wonder, we didn't spend much time pondering it. The ride takes off and we make our way to Davey Jones, Coley starts wigging out thinking we are going to go under this waterfall, I assure her that you get completely drenched on this ride and then just laugh at her as she is screaming while we pass through and come out on the other end bone dry.

I like the new Davey Jones additive, tis very nice, more Pirates of the Carribean-ish. Job well done Disney!

I have read in other trip reports about a CM who supposedly met his maker on this ride, he goes by the name of George, supposedly he haunts this place and if you say out loud "I don't believe in George." The ride will break down, so Reese wanted to put this to the test and yelled "I don't believe in George" through the whole ride. and guess what happened?....NOTHING! She was so disapointed because she had also read on other trip reports that it does work. The people behind us got a little annoyed with us, and the lady asked Reese who George was. Reese explained it to her and the lady said it was nonsense, she was really ticked at the whole thing, Reese said "simmer down lady, you're at DIsney." Now I do not condone Reese having a nasty smart mouth with adults but really for as annoying as Reese was with the whole George thing, the other lady was just as annoying if not more with her over the top snooty snorting pish posh attitude towards a young girl just wanting to have fun. So I said nothing, I think Reese was expecting me to reprimand her.

As we were leaving the ride the lady told me that Reese had ruined the ride for her, I politley told her that she can ride it again, there isn't a one ride per customer rule, and the lady told me that she didn't want to wait in line again. I did apologize to the lady though and told her it was innocent fun.

After the ride we played a bit in the store. Reese and Coley played alot, using the telscopes to get a closer look at cute boys etc...etc... They got out the video camera and recorded themselves and the CM's my favorite part was when Reese went up to a CM and told him a joke

Reese: Knock Knock (in her best pirate imitation)

CM: Who's there?

Reese: interupting pirate.

CM:interupting pira

Reese: AAAARRRRGGGH!

CM: you stole that from interupting cow.

Reese: it's funnier with a pirate don't you think? Why aren't you laughing?

CM: cause I'm a pirate, I only scowl.

Reese: Give me your best pirate scowl.

CM: AAAARRRRGGGGHHHH!

Reese: Very good!

The whole time you can hear Coley just laughing uncontrollably. I did not see this happen while we were there, this was a fun discovery once I got home and watched the tape, there were alot of fun discoveries. Those girls know how to have fun.

We are all starving hungry by now so we decide to head over to Pecos Bill for some grub. on the way we see a lady with the biggest most sparkly red hat I have ever seen, so we all dared eachother to touch it, we did, except Coley had to go all out for this dare, she didn't just touch the hat, she rubbed and ooohh's and aaahed over it saying "sparkly, loves it." The lady turned to Coley and gave her this look like "What the heck are you doing." It didn't faze COley, she gave her a big smile and said "Coley, loves your hat, Today is my Birthday." The lady wished her a happy birthday and we all went our separate ways, ours was to eat, who know where the red hat lady went.

Lunch was good, our person taking our order was new and kept anouncing it every time he made a mistake, we were very gentle with him, cause we were all knew at something sometime in our lives.

We found a nice quiet place to eat and dug in. The portions are so huge I can never finish, Reese and I had planned to always share a CS meal but when it came down to ordering we never wanted the same things so we always got what we wanted and ended up wasting half of it.

we left Pecos and started making our way towards BTMRR when we heard music, we saw that Woody was out with everyone, it was Woodys roundup, and to this day that song is still stuck in my head. Coach and I stopped to watch, the girls disappeared on us. This was fun, again something I didn't do last time, we never stopped and took the time to watch street shows, we tried to avoid them, well I didn't the family did. So I took lots of pictures and video taped some too, I thought my nieces and nephews would appreciate watching it when I got home, plus it would give me yet another chance to watch it myself.

After the show it took a while to get a hold of the girls, we finally reached them by cell and said we would meet at BTMRR. When we get there the wait time is 45 minutes, I know right? we didn't feel like fastpassing it so we said we would come back to it later.

We slowly headed to the haunted Mansion, we stopped and took pictures along the way, and let me say again, I am so happy that I had purchased a digital camera for the trip, it really frees you up to take as many pictures as you want, no worries about having to save your film, I just clicked away. Reese and Coley clicked away too, Coley has what I call the pass-n-snap, when she would see a cute boy (which happened alot) she would walk by him and hold her camera up, she wouldn't look at him or her camera, she would just snap as she passed him, sometimes this worked and she got model shots, other times she missed all together a few times she got the picture but the boy was making a face like he smelled something bad, I am sure it was just in reaction to having a camera shoved in his face.

The line for Haunted Mansion was 20 minutes, that's do-able, we had a lot to take in, last time I had 2 pictures of haunted Mansion, this time, 20. I paid more attention to details this time, I can't believe how much I missed last time. The wait was more like 10 minutes by the time we got into our doom buggys, the girls again were infront of us just chattering away. I had been video taping on rides when ever I could I knew not to use the exterior lighting. As the ride was moving all of a sudden it got brighter and we could see things better, like I know how they do the moving glowing eyes now, Coach and I were commenting on this when the ride stopped and a ghostly voice apologized for the ride stopping but some ghouls had interupted it, after what seemed like minutes but was really maybe 30 seconds we realized Reese was video taping but the exterior light was on, so we start yelling at her to turn off the light, she said I can't see things when the light is off, we told her that she had stopped the ride, so she threw the camera to me and I shut off the light, the ride started again. the girls thought this was hilarious, I continued to tape and I am surprised at how much shows up even without the exterior lighting. a little longer into the ride it stopped again and the same ghostly recording came on about ghouls interupting the ride. The girls are laughing so hard, the ride starts up again and only a few minutes later it stops again, same ghost recording again, the girls laugh harder, the ride starts then stops the girls are dying laughing and that's when Coach and I realizes they keep opening up their cell phones and shining the lights on things. We yell at them to knock it off and they do, the ride comes to the end where we pick up the hitch hiking ghosts, I look to see which ghost Coley and Reese got and here the 2 girls are facing the ghost and flicking their tongues at him as if they were making out. GROSS!
I was afraid that we were going to get in trouble once we got off the ride, but we didn't, nobody even gave us dirty looks. The girls wanted to go on again, so we agreed but there would be no making trouble, the next ride was uneventful. I spent the time looking for hidden mickeys.

We were on our way to Toon Town and we passed IASW I wanted to go on this, the girls didn't, I had to beg, they finally relented and we all got in line, this line is set up to make cutting easy, we didn't cut, we got cut infront of several times, but hey, if they are that anxious to ride this so bad that they have to cut well then I wish them the best, you would expect people to cut in line on big thrill rides, not IASW. The ladies behind us were loud, they wanted the whole world to know their business, and alot of their talk seemed far fetched, the one lady was telling about all the famous people she met, "Collecting character autographs and pictures just seems ridiculous when I have the real deal already, shania Twain, Renee Zellweger, Jodi foster." ( I can't remember all the names, it was quite a few) I don't know what got into me but I turned to her and told her that Leonardo Dicaprio came to my 25th birthday party. she asked how that happened, and I was so smooth in telling my story, I didn't stumble on words or anything. I told her that I am a profesional extra for the movies, and one of my movies was Titanic, I went on and told her about some of the scenes I was in but how I was closest to him when I was frozen floater #7. in between takes I was making plans with my best girlfriend Theresa, to go out that night for my Birthday, simple plans just dinner at the Olive Garden, Leo said that sounded good and would we care if he joined us, of course we said no problem never believing he would actually show up, but sure enough halfway through dinner he and some friends showed up, we all shared a bottle of wine, then he left. He even paid the bill. The lady was left standing with her mouth open, she believed my tall tail, heck I even believed it myself, coach andI turn back around and hold in our giggles, the Coach T says, "but Man, that water was cold." This moment started a whole new game for Coach and I, we would reinvent ourselves for each line we stood in. Yup, at one time I was a foot model, Coach T was damage control for Hannah Montana. Which made me think of becoming part of the paparazzi, I had people believing I flew all over the world taking pictures of stars for the tabloids. This was fun.

Back to IASW, it was nice to go through it once, without small kids I would never go again, but now I can say I have seen it. The ride was over and we lost the girls again, so we grabbed a soda and sat on a bench for a while just people watching. The girls happened to walk by us so we jumped up and made them get in line for the snow white ride, another one I didn't get to do the last time. The nice ladies in front of us said they hadn't been on it in several years, so Coley told them that Disney turned it into a kiddie coaster and it had alot of sharp turns and bunny hops. They believed her, but only for a second. It was a cute ride, I wouldn't do it again either unless I had litle ones with me.

WE made it to Toon Town, Coley did a couple of snap-n-passes along the way, it always made me laugh. We headed to minnies house, it was empty so we took full advantage of that and took all kinds of pictures in there, coach laid down for a quick a nap on the couch. then she made up a quick card, from Coach and Ty, Merry Christmas from Pa and left it next to Minnies christmas Tree. Minnies kitchen was packed I wanted to get pictures of it but it was just so crowded, so we left. the girls wanted to ride the Barnstormer, Coach and I passed, we said we would get their pics on it, well coach had it on the wrong setting and didnt get the picture, we tried to get the girls to go again but they refused.

By now it was time to head to Liberty Tree Tavern for dinner.

More to come later.

You know Ty. I've been on the Haunted Mansion 6 times (3 TDL, and 3 WDW), and I've had 3 rides (WDW: 2, TDL: 1), where it's stopped more than once! Is usually just to get a handicapped person on or off! Either way, it creates much fun!

Oh, and about Stitch's Great Mistake...yea...it sucks. I went on twice trying to figure out what they did wrong. You would have been thrilled by The ExtraTERRORestrial Alien Encounter!

You karazy, kooky people you!!

I am so glad you guys were having a blast. I am loving it!! But where in the world are your pictures?? I NEED pictures. You are after all paparazzi, you should have tons.

Floater #7 huh?? This was awesome!
:worship: :worship: :worship: You are the master!!!

I hope your DD was feeling better by her comp time. That's an awful feeling.

I am so glad you came over and introduced yourself today, I was telling everybody how I met another Disboard buddy today.

How did your squad do? You saw we got first...but we weren't up against anybody:) we didn't get a bid to Final Destination either, missed it by quite a few points, but I think coming from a rec league and this being their first time competing All Star they did pretty good, we now know what we need to improve on. I really wish we could have seen your DD compete, I would have loved to sit an talk for a bit, but I am sure we will run into eachother at another comp sometime. I couldn't believe the size of this one:eek:

Hi Ty! I am so glad we met. Everyone did you hear? I met Ty, the writer of great reports. She is so pretty. And what a nice voice!

OUr kids got second, out of two! We had kind of crash in a tumbling pass and that made us miss a few points. Also they are having difficulty with their chant being boring, so that got fixed this week we hope. The senior team did well and got a bid to Final Dest but not a free bid, they didn't meet the points. They also didn't go up against anyone, but the points mean something? Not sure what though, this was only my second meet ever.

We are going to the Quaker Classic at Univ of Penn on the 17th. There will be three comps going all at one time! :headache: I had a serious headache on Sat after the comp. I came home and put a blanket over my head to block out all light and sound... Fell asleep soon after.

We will be at the Quaker Classic at Univ Penn, and then at the Hburg Farm Show on the 30th. Then not sure what.

I so totally love your trip reports.

Keep them coming.

jackdis Hi, Glad to hear from you, I know life gets in the way of the boards, but it's nice that you can visit now and then.

SpaceMountain I have ridden it also when it's stopped for people, but serioulsy next time you get the chance to ride it, shine a light on something, it works, unless all 4 times was a complete coincidence, I suppose that could happen too. We like to think it was us that did it, cause it makes for a more interesting story.

ILMICKEY Hey there, I am doing all I can to get this picture thing remedied, I am about to throw this omputer out the window though, this is my 3rd time trying to post this message, I hate this computer.

Yea, Floater #7 is one of my better ones, however on day 3 Reese out did me. Can i create suspense or what?

ElizaB39 You are too kind. Hopefully we will run into eachother again, I know we have decided to add a couple more comps to our schedule.

I have got the Disney withdrawals real bad, I keep trying to think of ways to get back there, I am even considering a solo trip, but I don't do well when I am alone. I don't even go to the movies by myself. One time I went to a weekend scrapbook getaway at a gorgeous inn in Lancaster, didn't know a soul, I spent alot of my time in my room talking to my husband and kids on my cell phone, FOr 3 days of scrapbooking I only got 5 pages done, which for me is not very good, I did try to talk to people, but they were all in groups with their friends, they were polite to me, but didn't include me.

I tell myself I can do a solo trip to Disney, but then i ask myself, after I go on a ride who am I going to discuss it with.

I have read solo trip reports and people always seem to do really well, but I think that would be too much isolation for me. I feed off of people. But yet I think a solo trip would be one of the most empowering thing I could do for myself.
