Rumor: EPCOT New Countries Coming!

New Country??? How about Miami, it IS a 'foreign country' with real, albeit minimal, ties to Florida and the United States. The cuisine is heavily Cuban based with pinches of Jamaican, Creole and most Central American influences. Archecture could range from Art Deco to modern faux Spainish (with turnpike view) townhouses...

The Pavillian could be worked by volunteer Real Estate Agents who really have nothing else to do right now and could feature lessons on how to be a Miami Dolphins fan despite the fact that they haven't won anything since most people (still living) were born and as an alternative "how to maximize your road rage opportunities without getting arrested."

What do you think?
pirate:

As much as I want to defend this shameless slam, I can't. :headache: lol

I am still rooting for Miami over Dallas this weekend. :cheer2:

and don't let me catch you on the road driving slow in the left passing lane.......

Argentina?

Man, I can't WAIT to see President & Dictator-for-life Hugo Chavez cutting the Red Ribbon for that one.

All the while cursing the capitalist pig dogs under his breath.

I think you are confusing countries. Venezuela is Dictator Chavez's crib.

Maybe he just really wants to see Hugo Chavez cut that ribbon regardless of it being a different country?
Did you think of that? Did you?

I myself would like to see Vladamir putin wearing a pink tutu cut the ribben for the American Samoa pavilion.

LOL I'd prefer to see some other people such as Samantha Brown in a pink nightie.... wait this section is still family friendly isn't it?

Today I spoke with a CM from EPCOT who said that after Food & Wine is over, construction will begin on a new Pavilion at Showcase for two new additions where the African shop is located. Spain and Argentina! Spain was one of the original countries planned for Showcase when it opened... Argentina was the winner of the Golden Lizard Award last year for the "Best New F&W Kiosk for 2006".

I must add that I got this info at work, and that in the past, people I meet there have proven to be a very reliable source. That's how I found out the "Arm" was coming off the SE sphere, and that DVC was the new construction at the Contemp.

So let us see if this "inside" info is correct. I would doubt that they will build two new pavillions in the "Africa" space, just doesn't seem to be big enough. Maybe... But I would be happy with either or BOTH, as long as they serve food!

Except that the DVC at the Contemporary is still a rumor. It hasn't been announced or proven yet.

If this happens (and I am skeptical) then Argentina would be a good one... it would nice to get a south American country in there... I'd love Australia as well, but I think they will end up doing that as a DAK land eventually.

I'd love to see the additional lagoon and Australia added behind the American Adventure. There is concept art on Jim Hill's site that shows how it might look (from a 1978 publication).

OOH, Australia would be good. I'd also like to see Russia, Jamaica, and it wouldn't hurt my feelings if Norway was replaced with Switzerland. I agree with the other poster who wants Egypt, pyramids and a sphinx would be awesome!:cool2: I also think Ireland would be fun.

1) This could be a good choice.
2) Also, install some work rooms inside the exhibit
3) Then, you would have a Florida accent for computer help lines

Well if we are going that far, then why not put some rooms in China and we can have little kids make tennis shoes for 10 cents a day. Get REALLY authentic; when someone complains drag them off to prison or shoot em on site.

Jamaica is a great idea!!! You get great outdoor music and the landscaping wouldn't be too hard. You could have a bobsled ride too...

I could do without Australia for now...a good home for it would be over in AK. South Africa, India and Vietnam would be good options as well.

One problem is that most of the seats of the great colonial empires are represented except for Spain and Russia. So maybe those should be next to make the worldshowcase as politically incorrect as possible.
