We were staying at Diamonds Resorts (Grand Beach) last week. We were asked to do the timeshare presentation since we own with Diamond. The manager wanted us to buy more points. We told her that the only way we would add points, is if DVC comes back to II.

She then told us that "I should not be telling you this because the ink is not dry yet, but DVC will be making a few changes and coming back to II. Many DVC are not happy with RCI."

What does the disboard family think? I am not asking because of buying more points. I am just hoping that Disney will change back to II.

I think I'd wait until the ink is dry. Unless II provides a good outlet for underused cash DVD and DRC cash reservations, I wouldn't hold my breath.

I never trust any rumor from a timeshare salesman, not even a DVC salesman.

Its always possible that DVC will go back to II. I think they would stay with RCI a bit longer though.

I have no info, but I think that would be great. RCI resorts in Hawaii are not that great...I wouldn't mind trading into the Marriot Maui Ocean Club or Kauai....

I think that Disney will go with the company that makes them the most money irregardless of what members want.

We can only hope!:thumbsup2

I bet that ink takes a long time to dry.

Let me get this straight....a non-DVC sales person told you they knew DVC was going back to II? LOL! That's about as trustworthy as a fox telling the hen he wont eat her!

Let me expand on my original post. Who would be happy if DVC went back to II?

I did not post this question to get advice about buying points. My wife and I do not buy (large purchases) on the spure of the moment.

I have nothing really to base any preference to II or RCI. They are both exchange companys, and I've only exchanged once (under the II banner to Hawaii). Not sure if the II or RCI affiliation was the reason, but we stayed in an II exchange on one island and an RCI exchange (from our friends) on another, and the II resort exchange was much nicer.

I always thought the two were closely related anyway, aren't they? As I recall, they originated with two people from the same family...One kind of split from the other. Is that not true?

I have a bridge for sale in the NYC area if you want:laughing::lmao::rotfl2:

All I can say, as an II and DVC member exchanges are very easy. I never had exchanged with RCI, but, I get a monthly Timeshare mag and it describes RCI with many issues for exchanges.

Once Aulani opens, I would expect all RCI/II trading to/from Hawaiian timeshares to be restricted, like trading to other Orlando area resorts.

You know what they say about timeshare salesmen: Q: How can you tell they are lying? A: Their lips move.

Makes no difference to me. I was successful trading in through II and am equally successful trading in through RCI.
