RUMOR: Disney World Will Limit Guests to One Theme Park Per Day

Maybe people won't care about it, but WDW will. They made this bed and have to lie in it for now. If they say "hey no one cares about distancing now, let's revert back to old rules" they would have some irate people who canceled on their hands.

They can't win no matter what they do.

100% this. In an ever changing climate, making decisions a month in advance, there was always going to be something changed in the data from the day they announced the opening, to the day they do open. They knew that when they made the announcement. They cant just rip up their reopening strategy and expect not to get hit with a PR storm. I’m sure they’d love to be able to change it up if they were able to, and they might be planning a quicker backup solution if things progress, they can progress along with it (once they open up). But what they offered the task force, and what was agreed upon will be exactly what we see on day 1. If we start seeing a massive decline in cases by July 11th and it doesnt seem like big crowds are having as big of an impact as we once thought, I’m sure Disney will be able to adjust and make progressive changes as they get weeks into their opening.

But right now, aside from a clean slate, no one sick, no one dying, not a single case in the world, and confirmation the virus is gone by July 1st, what we see now is what we’re getting

Hopefully they refund people the price difference with the hopper. It would be ridiculous not to since it is more money than the regular non park hopping ticket

My worry then is that I'd lose the discount I got going through UT (they'd refund the difference between my ticket and the Disney price for a non-hopper).

They have the ability to increase attendance slowly, just like in Shanghai. I believe we will see that sooner than expected. That's why I don't think many people will be locked out of this reservation system.

From what Remy said, they’re going to make it up to passholders. Yes, the fine line agreement says you’re not guaranteed entry into parks, but when you’re reading up on APs and you see what they’re offering and what you’re buying the pass for, and them not being able to offer many of those perks due to a pandemic, they kind of have to make good on it. Its not their fault this is going on, but its also not fair to expect guests to have had the foresight of seeing this would happen in the world when they bought their passes.

I’m not sure what they’ll offer, but at this point, its likely better than what was originally offered, the partial refund vs extension.

The first 2-3 weeks I think people will need a good alarm clock and quick fingers, and probably for a little while after that for MK and DHS, but I would think by mid-late August it wont be an issue getting a reservation. Of course I wouldnt put money on that, and I think the demand is still there, but with circumstances where they’re at, and we’re probably looking at ~80,000 spots between the 4 parks, unless theres an issue with the reservation system (which is a very real possibility with Disney), then it shouldn’t be impossible to get a slot at a park after a few weeks

Disney should issue a refund of the difference in cost of the park hopper passes people have purchased already. It might not be much of a refund but if you can only go to one park per day then that's what you should pay for.

I think someone had mentioned the potential refund as monthly payment plans being the amount per month you’d possibly get in return. What you paid for the pass divided by 12 multiplied by the amount of months the passes are on pause. So right now for example, if you renewed your gold pass as a FL resident or DVC Member last year and paid $630, and the clock starts back up on July 15th, you’d get $210 back.

But I’m not sure what they’re actually going to do yet

Useful info. Unless they will enable pre-existing ticket holders to add tickets before the general pop, this would be our dealbreaker. I wish they would allow park hopper people to pre-select two parks in a day. I'd be willing to schedule it ahead of time.
I don't see any way they can allow anyone to reserve two parks with park capacity as low as it will be. I don't think park hopping will come back until they get to a point where park occupancy is well below the maximum capacity.
