RUMOR: Disney World Will Limit Guests to One Theme Park Per Day

Sometimes it is hard to remember there was a part of 2020 that wasn't a flaming pile of garbage. Yes, pre-March excluded lol.

And yeah I was just teasing but I agree it feels like a lifetime ago. I cant imagine sitting in that DHS crowd trying to get a boarding group right now.

Not surprised. Why would they want people jumping all over the place when there’s going to be this new reservation system to limit capacities. I never hopped and never understood how efficient going park to park really is.

I like seeing certain nighttime shows multiple times per trip but don’t want to spend the entire day in that park.

Some of us don't go to WDW for efficiency - we go for the experiences. We love to start the day in AK then head over to Epcot for the evening. Or spend the day in DHS then head over to MK for the fireworks. Not efficient, but a lot of fun.

Ill never tell first timers, or people that havent gone in a long time to get park hoppers because I do think it’s inefficient and its better to experience the parks for a full day or two to get the full experience of each park. But as a regular, or semi regular guest that has been able to experience most of what the parks offer, park hopping gives you that option to not feel obligated to feel stuck in one park the entire day. I can have a great day while getting in pretty much everything I want done at all 4 parks in a single day, if I dont sleep in, or have fast passes for hard to get on rides.

If I’m there for 7 days, I like to see the DHS and Epcot firework shows, and Fantasmic (I like the DHS version more than DLR. My mind wont be changed) once during a trip, and HEA and previously Wishes 3 or 4 times a trip. But I dont do 4 full MK park days. 2 or 3 of those days ill show up an hour before HEA, watch the show and then hit up BTM and HM and head back to the hotel

We always park hop almost every day. We like to take resort breaks during the day and will open one park in the morning, close another in the evening. It’s a great way to get the more popular rides using FP+ . We can ride every one of them, even with tiering by visiting each park multiple times during a trip. For me, I can’t imagine being in a park from opening to close every day. Sound absolutely exhausting.

I would never want them to do away with it permanently unless they make major changes to FP+ as well. We’d still split our visit, even if going to the same park. Getting out of the heat and making use of our resort amenities is a big part of our trip.

Personally, I wouldn't want to be restricted to one park for the entire day. I like a bit of variety and the option to change my mind should I feel like it. There is nothing efficient about being restricted to a busy park for an entire day when you could head over and see another park that could be not quite so busy. I love resort hopping for a cake and coffee between parks, nothing inefficient about that in my books 🧁:-)☕

This is more of a problem with Disneyland (f they do the same 1 park per day with Disneyland) but it will be very interesting to see what they do to AP's since the terms have changed so much....some things that might happen (just throwing out ideas)

1. Offer a refund of the entire length left on people's AP's from the date Disney World / Land closed from COVID if people want it
2. Give people with higher tier AP's the ability to make multiple reservations (or more than the lower tiers)
2. Do nothing, offer not refund or discount

“What is do nothing, communicate next to nothing, and then offer no type of refund/discount Alex?” -Bob #2

I cannot see why Disney cannot offer park hopping with a reservation, you reserve your first park, then if you want to park hop you can check to see if any of the other parks have availability so you can have a reservation for any park with it and off you trot.
I'm beginning to feel a lot of what Disney is doing is knee jerk and they will probably end up refining it as they go along once the parks are up and running.

If you can't park hop, can you leave and go back to the same park. I'm not sure of the hours, but say Epcot is 11-9. We can't do 10 hours. We would go at 11 , stay until 3, leave and go back about 6. If we weren't staying at an Epcot resort, we'd still leave and find a bench to relax for a few hours. You know how hard it is to find benches inside a park now.

We have a trip [planned for November and I hope w are close to being back to normal by then. We would go to the parks that had EMH then go back to the resort then in the early evening we would go to a different park for where we made our fast passes for.

1. There dont seem to be enough reservarions for people to get 1 park per day right now.

2. If there is an outbreak, it "limits" exposure.

We paid for BWV accommodations in September specifically so we could park hop into Epcot or Studios each evening after a break from our morning park. Not being able to hop significantly diminishes the value of our trip. My extremely expensive high tier AP also specifically includes park hopping. As a guest that is paying top dollar for a deluxe resort and a high tier annual pass, I expect access to the parks. I understand if Disney can't provide those services with the management plan they have chosen, but I also expect a significantly more aggressive refund/future discount/additional options for APs that I have seen to date. I can get a partial refund for my pass that I only used once or accept a very degraded experience and still pay full price. The amount of service and attractions they chose to have available is what it is, but I shouldn't be punished for prepaying for full service. Disney's verbose legalese on the passes aside, simply restarting the clock on the APs on July 11 and repeating a single sentence about how valuable I am to them doesn't cut it. I keep telling myself that Disney will make it right, but doubt that a little more each day. I have spent 10s of thousands of dollars at Disney and had places to spend 10 of thousands more, but those future dollars depend on how they are going to treat me now when things are tough.

Had other things not caused us to cancel, the inability to park hop would have. And I agree, if they're removing the park hopping option, AP's need to be given at least a partial refund on their passes. Non-resident passes cost a small fortune. Starting the clock on AP's on July 11 is ridiculous, but I'm not sure we have that confirmed yet? I know Shanghai did not. Disney shouldn't either. What they are offering now is not what I paid a lot of money for. At the very least, all the parks should be open with park hopping available before they start the clock ticking again or there should be a significant refund for the loss of benefits we paid for- both for active AP's and vouchers.

I don't think we have been notified yet when they are starting the clock. At least I haven't been (out of state Platinum AP). That said, I am sitting back patiently and waiting. Remy has said more than once to be patient as he believes AP holders will be satisfied with what Disney does for them in the end. I feel like that is in line with what Disney has tried to do historically.

No park hopping will cause me to cancel. Just not worth it.

We never stay in one park. Hate the fact that fastpasses (remember them!) were limited to one park. Love the flexibility of going wherever we want at any time for meals, rides, or just a change of scenery if where we are at the moment is too crowded or we just get an itch to go somewhere else.

Also, as others have mentioned, kills the value of my Platinum AP.

Very interested in seeing where this, and other outstanding questions, land.
