The Marriott there is reportedly lovely.Problem is timeshares in Europe have a really bad stigma, I just don't think it would work.

Every once in a while I look at resale options there. I'm tempted, it very very cheap to buy in but high(-ish) MF. It would be convenient(-ish) for a 3BR, but it's 3 time the space I really need. The Marriott there is reportedly lovely.
All of the purpose built Marriott's overseas (Spain, France, Thailand) are reportedly VERY nice. Probably some of the best in MVC's system. Something Marriott has done lately is an offshoot called the Pulse Program (I know you know this but for others that might not). Basically they take hotels and either convert either part or all to a timeshare. Places like SF, San Diego, NYC, Miami and DC come to mind. Most members aren't a big fan because of the limitations and higher "costs" but it does give options that are not available in the system otherwise. I think this concept would work perfectly at DLP. In general there's no reason not to do so for that location but there may be some internal restrictions and cross division issues that would make it difficult. I also have no way of knowing if i's possible from a legal standpoint in that location. It could potentially be a win for the park, hotel and DVC.Every once in a while I look at resale options there. DLP has always suffered for too many onsite hotel rooms, a conversion to DVC seems a good idea. Half of Newport (once was the biggest hotel in Europe and they've always struggled to fill it) would make the most sense. But I'd love an option at the Disneyland Hotel.
It will never happen, unfortunately.
Even less likely at Tokyo, where the whole resort is owned by another company.
My rep told me today October 1st it is raising to 125Is the minimum being raised actually a certainty or just a rumor at this point?

I think all Marriott's exchange in the points system to some degree. MVC has 3 main variations as they've gotten into timesharing and evolved. There are a few fixed week/fixed unit resorts from very early, floating weeks resorts and now there are points only resorts (Trust Points). They also have a conversion system where you convert weeks to points IF you qualify, it's basically a developer purchase benefit. When they rolled out th program they gave everyone the option to "enroll" in the new program for a small fee between $700 & $2000 depending on the # of weeks and developer vs resale. Now you cannot enroll in general but they often have specials where you can enroll with a qualifying developer purchase. You can use points at any resort subject to availability. The pulse program seems very interesting, I didn't know it. One of the things holding me back is that I don't know MarriottVC at all and TUG is not very newbie friendly: there's so much information it's difficult to start somewhere. The Marriott near DLP is a classin weekly timeshare, does it exchange in the points program? Are the pulse resort bookable this way or would I have to use II to book back other Marriott resorts?
….interesting. Mine put it in writing. We'll have to wait and see what happens. My rep would not confirm nor deny the increase. Just saying they dont like to say anything until they have been informed.
Guides have always been variable when it comes to bending the rules. Some use email, some refuse for example.….interesting. Mine put it in writing. We'll have to wait and see what happens.
Miss the valet!!Mostly a scare tactic. Disney have never taken away anything from previously qualified owners unless they are killing the benefit entirely. Like the old valet parking benny.
Covid aside, the Valet parking has been there all along.Miss the valet!!
Sorry, the free Valet...Covid aside, the Valet parking has been there all along.
I understand some miss it, but there were no reasonable options to continue it given the realities of the options available.Sorry, the free Valet...

Yes Debbie Downer...I understand some miss it, but there were no reasonable options to continue it given the realities of the options available.
I'm just saying that I miss the free Valet. Nothing else. So as the song says. Let it go, Let if go....LOL...The free valet parking was provided free with no cost to the system, that changed and it would have been full price to the system just like it is now to you or I.
