Rumor about “modified experiences” when Disney reopens (read 1st post for potential modifications being considered)

Not sure if this has been brought up but in regards to resorts possibly staying closed...you can only purchase a dining plan staying on property. I would think the dining plan is a really big money maker and they would want to be selling that upon reopening. Also Epcot being closed would affect dining plan options as well possibly? And yes this fits my narrative of wanting the resorts and all parks open so there’s that.

I wonder if they suspend the dining plan - if they are going to have to limit number of tables in restaurants will they be able to have enough sports for people to choose for their meals? And like you mention IF Epcot doesn't open that takes a bunch of restaurants completely out. Or else really limit how many plans are sold or something

Do we think some hotel reservations made after the shutdown could still get cancelled even if they do open? We booked in April thinking things would be certainly open by August. I was wrongly predicting that warmer weather would reduce spread. Did they take my reservation before knowing they would reduce capacity? I want to be prepared for all the different forms of disappointment 😂😭. Throwing out my prediction - last week of June. I may as well be optimistic. I'm tired of assuming the worst.

Hoping with all that is possible for the following:

Resorts open(can live with MK resorts at first, sorry as my reservation is 6/24-7/1 Contemp CL, then need BC open for 7/1-7/5)
All Parks open(could live with only 3)
Water Parks open

Not hoping for much......

I am guessing that the resorts will be open no later than June 27, due to that is the first date for the original free dining that was released on January 2.
I’m guessing the free dining offer is a difficult conundrum for Disney considering they’ll likely need to reduce restaurant capacity and take extra precautions (or delay opening of) buffet/character meals , while still offering enough opportunity for FD folks to use all their credits.

They make way too much money of dining plans to suspend them. It will probably be more limited, but if people are willing to buy them, no doubt they'll sell them.

Random thought. “Parks and hotels will open on 7/6, but no one, not even hotel guests, are guaranteed admission. There will be limited reservations to enter the park on each day available to anyone. Hotel guests can cancel their trip up to 24 hours in advance without penalty. Any park tickets a guest has will have the expiration delayed on year, and APs will continue to be extended.”

I’m just trying to think of what these “surprises” could be that rteetz alluded to... there has to be something that no one has thought of yet.

Please tell me they’ll be reading the public comments again. Those during the Universal meeting were so bad, but also made me smile with how ridiculous they were

I dont think they could block hotel guests like that.

Since they had the safety walkthrough with the local government already, I don't see the opening being that far off. I think the opening date will be no later than the 15th. I don't think they'll keep the parks closed for over a month after they announce an opening date. I think you may see only DVC resorts open initially with regular resorts opening a week or two later.

I know that they aren't allowing reservations in June to be booked, or existing reservations to be modified during the closures. However, I wonder if they open say a day after your check in date if they would allow you to check in the next open day of your reservation since the rest of you reservation is accounted for in their "capacity". I'm anticipating my 6/21 trip to be cancelled sadly. But say if they open 6/22 I wonder if they'd allow check in for the 22nd instead of the 21st if that makes sense.
Today will probably be a sad day for many of us with cancelled trips that lots of planning went into and for special celebrations for many. But, at least the anticipation will be over and we can look forward to future trips. Disney does not owe us anything by any means, but it would be cool if they would extend a special room discount or promo to those of us that were affected by the closures.

I would think so. It's pretty easy to distance on a miniature golf course and I've never seen either of them get that busy.
I also think miniature will be open. I live in NJ and our governor actually allowed miniature golf and driving ranges to open up over the Memorial day weekend.

I’m on the touringplans website for FastPass, and starting Aug 1 all shows and meet and greets are listed as closed. Thoughts? Sorry if this was discussed, there’s a lot to scroll through
