Rumor about “modified experiences” when Disney reopens (read 1st post for potential modifications being considered)

I am reading rumors that CM's are being told August. Shucks. I saw it mentioned three different times on a comment section for "inside the magic". This seems to explain why Disney masks are becoming available later in July.
Wow...that's a big blow because I took Universal as a clear sign of Disney following close behind. Two more months later is a long time. I will probably have to cancel. We are booked for early August but didn't want to be in that first experimental wave of opening.

Your best bet is to wait until you see official word from Disney, frustrating as it may be. If I got bothered by every rumor claiming inside information, I would’ve cancelled this next trip weeks ago. All I know is that there have been so many predictions that when it’s all over, one of them is going to have been right.

Anyone can go on there and claim they work for Disney and create a narrative. Theres no background checks when signing up to make sure that person really works security at MK. If CMs were getting calls that they werent needed back until August, we’d know about it. I’m not saying it’s definitely not true, but I wouldnt take any of those comment sections as legitimate sources.

Also, the masks arent all shipping out in July. Some people are still set to receive theirs within the next couple of weeks. It all depends on when you got your order in
Agreed!
As an aside, my order was a June 15 delivery date, but by the time I got my order in the same day (not early morning), it was more like June 29(ish). I see now the dates are July and August depending on what masks are ordered if the order was put in this week.

And IF they open the parks and resorts by June 15th, I’m sure theres a way they could have the masks you ordered waiting for you at your room

I mentioned in post #7472 my thoughts on how serious Disney must be taking this from an economic standpoint and the reality of too many modifications needing to happen to fully open this summer. Making some money is overall better than Disney opening and losing big time economically. This gives them time to open at their pace.

I also wonder if Disney will expedite plans based on Universal opening so soon. I'm now seeing rumors of an 8/31 opening. Will Disney really go for a whole summer closed when their biggest competitor is open?

I don't think Universal opening matters to Disney. Orlando is Disney's so they will dominate whenever they open, I think it's what is the capacity necessary that will make a profit and can they make profit with less cast members, less cm interaction and other park modifications. I think if they can buy some time to come out on top in the long run they would do it. WDW is a tourist destination and this summer is looking like it might not be that huge of a tourist destination. (Economy, international and domestic travel, the "m" debate)

Huh, makes me wonder if any rumor spreading goes on with competing companies. In other words UO employees going on these sites claiming they work for Disney and yada yada yada, haha. Honestly it wouldn't surprise me :)

So this could mean nothing or it could mean something, but I figured I’d mention it since we are analyzing everything for meaning, lol. I check resorts for our upcoming stay to see if I can switch out for a better rate quite frequently (too frequently) and I noticed a marked change in availability today. I noticed no availability at all (even rack) for CR for any room through mid September and no club level at any resort through the end of August/Sept 1. This a marked change from yesterday when nearly everything was available.

I just got a Donald error when I try to check for reservations, but that could just be my phone and be meaningless.

This sounds like an excellent opportunity for another fun round of Disney operational change or IT update!

I don’t trust anyone who ends every sentence with exclamation mark/s 🤣

Interesting, I’m seeing the same thing. I currently have the YC, CL for part of our stay in July. Who knows what it means. My first reaction is always glitch. lol

Yeah, that was what I was thinking at first, but I don’t know. I feel like I don’t know anything anymore, lol. What I am sort hoping is that it means a date has been decided on and an opening plan is being executed so I can finally know if I can go on my trip or let it go and make other plans, but probably glitch, lol.

GAME ON!!!

Operational Change

😭 I sooooo want it to be an IT update but at the end of the day I’m in this game to win it and I think operational change is the better call 😭

I'm going out on a limb here, I think it is a combination of the two :scared1:

I think CR could be an operational change related to the whole NBA/MLS sports ordeal and figuring out availability needs related to that fiasco.

I think that club level will need IT updates to the listed amenities (I imagine self-serve food/some lounge stuff might be a no-no for a little while) so IT may need to make some changes regarding the wording of what is included, how many rooms they will book on a floor, etc.
