Rumor about “modified experiences” when Disney reopens (read 1st post for potential modifications being considered)

I'm not normally one to care about people getting off topic, but I do wish in this case we could have a thread that is not for discussion and truly only a watch thread, maybe need a new thread entirely at this point as a watch thread for Universal reservation system news or anything about how opening will actually work.
The news round up thread typically gets the same news with minimal chatter.

I can’t wait to stand next to a bunch of strangers being told to watch a video no one wants to watch. Tuning in just in the right moment to hear I should be thankful and grateful I’ve been given the chance to give thousands of dollars to a company.

:rotfl2:
But those who come are choosing to spend thousands of dollars knowing full well it could be a hot mess. Lol

And I’m sure Disney would be much better putting together a PSA about it than my clumsy use of words. ;-)

As the guys on the Dis Unplugged said today. I just want everyone to play nice so it doesn’t spoil it for everyone else.

And...Disney stock is taking a big hit right now
I’m glad to hear it. They need to do a better job of communicating. This is getting ridiculous. I don’t buy the nonsense that they’re being careful b/c they care about ppl’s health & safety. I think there is an ulterior motive. Perhaps, their responsibility to their shareholders will motivate them more b/c it doesn’t seem like a responsibility to their loyal customers & DVC members is motivating them. Not being able to open is one thing, but the rolling cancellations & complete silence is unacceptable imo.

What would the ulterior motive be? Do you think they’re simultaneously trying not to make money and upset their guests?

Just got off the phone with Universal AP services, my pass has already been extended to Aug 9th, IDK what math they are using, my ap was automatically renewing April 7th and I don't have to pay again until Aug 9th now, really don't care :D
She said they don't have actual procedures on reopening for AP but to keep an eye on my email

Their math is strange. Mine was supposed to expire at the end of October. Now it expires on January 30. That’s not even the same strange math as your case. I’m not complaining either!

Coronado Springs is now showing availability for most dates in July — just not in the Tower. I tried random dates with bookings of 4 days up to 8 days and the room types varied, but there were rooms & suites available for most of the month. So if the NBA is going to be at CSR it looks like it will be in the Tower.. The tower has 545 rooms.
(Not too much different then if there was a very large conference or convention held there.) No reason not to delay the reopening of the parks.

Not enough rooms even if they only had half the league plus all the support they’d need.

Wonder if the time option to pick up the offer has expired? Or if there is now a penalty on the contract that allows Disney to release the rooms to inventory and the NBA will pay an additional fee to get it all back and Disney will simply move anyone who booked?
