Rumor about “modified experiences” when Disney reopens (read 1st post for potential modifications being considered)

I am also waiting to see what my July trip looks like to see if I will cancel (or if they are even open)... but I will be extremely upset if I have to cancel and not able to rebook with the same discount I had booked, or a similar discount. I was up at 3a on 1/2/20 and booked immediately when Free Dining dropped for the summer (and not give me a fall discount that I cannot go to.. I booked Summer because that is the only time of the year my family can go w/o pulling my son from school). It is ridiculous that Disney is cancelling people and not allowing a similar discount to rebook. Disneyland Paris is allowing previous discounts from cancelled trips for future rebookings. WDW needs to step it up.
That is our situation too! We booked the summer free dining and don't want to lose it by rescheduling. Since the requirements are to arrive on a certain day (ours is June 26) I'm guessing they wouldn't honor moving it? I don't want to give up on it until the last minute though. Still holding out hope for last week of June. :)

Is anybody else just losing interest in going at all if we're going to have to adhere to a bunch of restrictions? It sounding like a miserable vacation IMO and I'd just rather not go if they're going to suck the joy out of the place.
100%- but I want to know what the restrictions are before I cancel. And I'd really like other people to be guinea pigs for like a week so I know how the rules work in reality...

We've had a few people who were cancelled and their offer has not been honored. Idk if anyone who hasn't been cancelled tried to move it out of June and got the offer honored?

I’ve been following the opening of city walk on Twitter too. Disney will have no problem getting the masses into the parks regardless of restrictions after seeing the lines to get into a couple of stores and restaurants. Seeing the signs and temp checks is so weird and so “yuck” though. Glad they are posted.

Are folks wearing masks (thought I read that was required)?

Thanks for the photos.

I just can't imagine this 6 foot thing being sustainable over thelong term. There just isn't physical space for the amount of people that will eventually want to come to places like this, they will have to "clog up" and line up somewhere else (that won't have nice stickers). I mean we don't need to be shoulder to shoulder like we are waiting for rope drop, but 6 feet apart takes a lot of space.

Sure .. it works fine when there won't be many people going out, but what happens after a week or two of this and more people start showing up to come to places like Disney Springs and City Walk?

Another reason to wait and see before going back. I find the whole thing depressing, but I know that many people will go.

In Phase 2, the restrictions are relaxed and doesn’t require it. I’m sure people are hoping it will be somewhat back to as normal as what can be considered normal a couple months from now.

First thing that comes to my mind when I see these pics ( social distancing -6 ft) on the ground , is now Disney is going to handle the bus situation ?

Even at partial capacity, the parks will be crowded. So, hypothetically, if a ton of ppl leave MK at closing time, where are they going to wait ? Maybe people will sit on the carousel until their number is called ? 🙄

Chapek said the demand was there. Some didnt seem to believe him. Clearly by the looks of City Walk, the demand is certainly there

If you sit and think about all the things that have to change it makes your head hurt. The list is very long.

I agree with you. I knew there would be restrictions but man, those signs and temp checks are a sad reminder.

Disney Springs is going to be just like this too. 😔

I dont really find any of it depressing. Its necessary, right now. These businesses need to open back up, and they need to take precautions, no matter what percentage of really making a difference it is. These are all temporary measures. Some might stick in minimized form, but masks, temp checks and 6 feet separation wont last. I could see 2-3 feet separation markers moving forward after things get back to “normal”
