Rumor about “modified experiences” when Disney reopens (read 1st post for potential modifications being considered)

I would wear a mask if it meant going, I just hope there is such thing as a clear mask? I want to see my kids smiles in pictures of their first time at Disney! I know that probably doesn’t exist but it’s the one thing that would make some sad (not seeing their smiles)

I'm looking into some moisture wicking gaiters for my husband, because he doesn't want to shave his beard. He should probably be wearing them to do yard work anyway. Pollen is bad here.
I have a cooling neck gaiter that I wear for yard work and for hiking that fits comfortably over the nose and mouth. I was thinking this might be a good option for a face covering at WDW since the language used in the DS opening is "appropriate face covering."

I agree. But I probably wouldn’t be saying things to other guests. It just invites a not-so-magical situation to take place. I think it’s highly unlikely said guest would respond with, “Oops, you’re right! I completely forgot! Thank you so much!” And more likely the response could be nasty, and something I’d rather not deal with on vacation. IMO, the best thing to do is move away from the offender if possible, just as you would do with a smoker.
I think this is an important problem Disney will need to address. Hard to move away if you are stuck in line. Disney will likely have to hire more security to enforce rules since there are more rules to enforce. (And I have been told this morning that CMs are completely powerless to do anything which Disney can either choose to fix or not.)

Yep just posted a similar thing on the other thread. I think I could probably handle wearing that kind of covering there.

I’m pretty sure they do make them, for people who need to read lips.

There are masks with smiles already printed on them. Perfect for surly teenagers...

I saw an employee at Chick-Fil-A wearing a plastic face "shield." I don't know if that would be ok for WDW though. Hopefully they come out with more details soon.

I actually placed an order from them last week... I received an email, I believe on Saturday, saying there would be a delay in shipping because they are making masks! Pretty cool.

I give tons of credit to companies doing things like this. A lot of my running gear is UA because they have real good moisture wicking and I bet their masks would probably work pretty well in the florida humidity though of course getting them to hospitals is way more important.

This pretty little thing is amazing! It's layered chiffon in the mask area, then I just tie it loosely around back of neck. Is it medical grade? No - but it does cover my face/mouth and makes people feel safer at same time.

I wear it for outdoor stuff. I do have a heavier mask if I'm going in a store or something.

I would wear it to WDW in a flash! I just ordered a second one in another pattern! :D

For the purpose it is being used, a face shield - if it comes all the way down over chin - should be an appropriate substitute for a cloth mask. Hopefully Disney is on board. They sell them shaded so they can replace sunglasses as well.

other option I could see is let you cancel, get a refund back on portion you didn't use and then grandfather in the renewing bonus for whenever you start up your next AP (maybe say has to be within the next 12 months or something)
Thank you, @TheMaxRebo for saying exactly what I've been thinking. Especially since I have a renewed AP that I may never use any of as it renewed in March.

According to the Orlando Sentinel, nearly 120 custodians are being called back in to work for the May 20 phased reopening, with some workers set to return as early as this Friday in order to start cleaning the vast shopping, retail, and entertainment complex.

Eric Clinton, president of the Unite Here 362 union, spoke up about the need for janitors in light of heightened health and safety measures: “Custodian work, as you can imagine, will become quite important.”

Disney has provided essential Cast Members throughout the closure with face masks upon request, and will continue to do so for these returning Cast Members. Guests will also be required to wear face masks throughout the property as phased reopenings continue.

CNBC complied some nice photos from opening day. I believe you are discussing the phenomenon seen in Photo #3 lol
This is pure speculation on my part, but from my time in China, it may have some legs. They have a strict national ID. Everyone has one, and it's necessary to get into schools and government run jobs and whatnot. They also have essentially a government monitored social media called WeChat, like WhatsApp or Facebook, except your social credit score is impacted by what you do online. Embedded in this app is the QR code for contact tracing. Green QR = good to go Red= Quarantine 14 days. Yellow I'm not sure. Anyway all this set up to ask if maybe she's having her identity checked to make sure her green QR code is really her?
