Rumor about “modified experiences” when Disney reopens (read 1st post for potential modifications being considered)

They aren't going to require masks, but be highly recommended. To much risk of confrontation/issues if they require. People are getting in fights and shot over mask requirements across the country. No way Disney is going to take that risk.
The DS post suggests masks will be required. And pretty sure Disney doesn't allow guns.

On edit, I have zero sympathy for people who complain about masks IF they know in advance that masks are required. And I'm not talking about whether masks should/should not be mandatory, just that if they are and you don't want to wear one then don't go.

It’s not a big deal for me or my husband. We wear them everywhere now. It is a big deal for my small children - they are constantly taking them off. Constantly. I make them wear them here outside of our neighborhood, and it’s a struggle. I’d be so worried about getting yelled at by another guest or scolded by a CM every five seconds. People have been great so far, and they just kind of move away a bit if one of my kids rips theirs off. But people in Disney can be MEAN.
I’d be a lot more worried about the kids making themselves sick than CMs scolding me.... Touch a hand rail or a trash can and then touch the mask and then they’ll breath in all those germs the rest of day.

Littles wouldn't have to wear them so I don't think it will be an issue. It will most likely be adults that have to wear them.

Yes! This too! Honestly, I think all the people who don’t understand the angst over masks must not have small children in their party any longer.

I agree that children shouldn’t have to wear them. And not just those under 2. But maybe 6 and under or so. But many think everyone should, which is a tad unrealistic.

I have a feeling that hand rail will have a slick hand sanitizer feel to it from everyone carrying their own, and Disney supplying more. Guessing in the next six months, Dis will be buying the trash cans that open with either a foot touch or sense touch.

Isn't the answer don't go if masks are required and the guest views that as a problem? The mask requirement (assuming it is enacted) isn't just random, but is because Disney decided it is the safest approach for their guests and workers.

We don’t know how or if Disney will require masks, but if it’s like many of my local businesses only teens and adults are required to wear masks. I see about 50% of the children wearing masks.

That’s really easy to say when it’s other people who have to “not go” and not yourself. Yes, we can avoid the parks for awhile. But if this is the new normal, we can’t. We are DVC members. We also have a disabled child who may never be able to wear a mask.

But again, we are just talking about Disney trying to make the best decision it can for the safety of all guests and workers. That is going to impact any number of guests differently, but it isn't a random decision.

And I certainly understand that you have unique concerns that may not impact me.

This is the reality of Disney not waiting until 2021, 2022, or 2040 to open. I'm sure it's not the last safety measure some people will find stupid, useless, or unpleasant, or prohibitive.

I respect this, and can mostly get onboard with it. My concerns will mostly be about how will they react if a small child removes their face mask? What if they do it again five minutes later? Will we be escorted out of the park? I’m curious how strict it will be, and I will be watching closely.

I don't think littles will have to wear masks. It will be for adults and teens.

Your concerns make all kinds of sense to me. I have no idea what Disney will do with respect to masks, but if masks are mandatory I would assume they would just remind a family that the child needs a mask. I don't see that being an issue. The issue is adults who show up and simply refuse to wear a mask, even though Disney publicly stated that masks are required.
