Rumor about “modified experiences” when Disney reopens (read 1st post for potential modifications being considered)

Masks should be the least of things to be worried about..
these 2 paragraphs will allow them to cancel anybody's reservation at any time when they first re-open.

Upon reopening, theme parks, Disney Resort hotels, restaurants, attractions, experiences and other offerings may be modified and will be limited in capacity and subject to limited availability or closure, based on direction from health experts and government officials to promote physical distancing.

Additionally, attractions, experiences, services and amenities may have limited availability or may remain closed. We will provide more information as it becomes available. We reserve the right to cancel any reservations, admission media or purchases and provide applicable refunds.
They reserve that right all the time. They just want to make sure you know that now because it could very well happen.

I guess the point of it is they can limit the guests knowing that a lot more want to come than they can handle with the the new guidelines.

Masks are required anytime you enter a business in LA. Masks aren't required for curbside pickup because you won't be entering the business for that.
Yes, exactly. At Disney Springs, you don't necessarily have to enter a specific business, you could technically just walk around. Disney is going to have to be very specific when they reopen... but overall super glad for some progress nonetheless!!

Not sure where you are in Florida but I'm 10 minutes outside of WDW and I would say only about 1/2 of people wear masks in all the places I've gone...that's bad!!
Business opened down here in Florida this past week. From what I have been seeing, for the most part when you are in a store "most everyone" has a mask on. When they leave the store lots of people take them off.

I would bet it would be very similar in DS

Be sure to read the recent terms of service changes, the one they sent the email about this week and have the pop up on all of their sites including MDE about - they cover all their policy, liabilities, obligations and such in it.

It was a dry read, I couldn’t figure out why so much was being made of the changes that they’d require an email and a pop up every time you opened an official disney site... they’ve made many changes over the years never with this much fanfare. I guess they were making sure that all was laid out and understood in light of the circumstances and changes. All cards on the table 🤷🏻‍♀️

They aren't going to require masks, but be highly recommended. To much risk of confrontation/issues if they require. People are getting in fights and shot over mask requirements across the country. No way Disney is going to take that risk.

I really don’t understand why masks are such a huge deal. I see people getting their panties in a twist all over social media about masks. It’s not like Disney or any company that may require masks is forcing people to enter their business. If someone doesn’t want to wear a mask, they don’t HAVE to go to into a business that requires masks. 🤷🏻‍♀️

THISS

I think that initially they will rely on self cancellation or maybe they already know that some borders will be closed.

I think they probably will. But, I think that's a mistake.

It's like when doctors offices overbook their schedule because they are anticipating no-shows. Yes, sometimes it works out, and sometimes, you are running 3 hours behind.

I suspect that enough people aren't rushing out to travel to a theme park on June 1 that this won't be a problem.

You're probably right. But, what if we're wrong?

What if more people are willing and able to go back to the parks than we are anticipating? What if those cancellations don't come?

Then, Disney will be in quite a predicament, scrambling to figure out something.

It's not that complicated to understand. Some people want to go to Disney and find wearing masks uncomfortable or impossible, so their emotions range from mildly upset to raging.

Not saying they're right to feel angry, but anybody who cares enough to post on the disboards should be able to relate to the disappointment of not being able to go to Disney.

It’s not a big deal for me or my husband. We wear them everywhere now. It is a big deal for my small children - they are constantly taking them off. Constantly. I make them wear them here outside of our neighborhood, and it’s a struggle. I’d be so worried about getting yelled at by another guest or scolded by a CM every five seconds. People have been great so far, and they just kind of move away a bit if one of my kids rips theirs off. But people in Disney can be MEAN.

If people fight in Disney or cause problems, they will get removed. Its that simple.

This is the announcement I was expecting this week after the call. Still keeping with my thoughts/predictions that the resorts will start in June and Parks by July with soft open for the parks possibly 6/15. We will get info annouced for that probably in a week or so.
There is zero reason to waste resources opening up hotels and not parks. Barely anyone would go to Disney. People stay there for parks, conferences and the occasional resort only trip for a couple nights. The occasional resort only trip is not enough to justify opening the hotels with no parks.
