Rum tasting

I've signed dh and I up for this for our Jan cruise. Only info I could find about this was from 4 years ago. If anyone has done this recently on the Fantasy, do they still give you 3 straight rums and 2 cocktails to taste? I'm not much of a drinker, so I don't need some fancy, hard to find rum to try, just not sure if I'd be able to(or want to) drink any of it if it's mostly straight rum. Thanks

When we did the rum tasting on the Fantasy (2017) the rums chosen were of very good quality. It's a tasting and an education on rums, and education is the key to the tastings (same for wine, whiskey, cognacs, etc.). We've tasted rums that we don't have here in NM but glad we had the opportunity and education to enjoy something new. You get enough for a couple of sips to enjoy and learn about the chemistry behind rum making and the flavors you experience. BTW, its a tasting, not a chug-a-lug at the frat house. Go for it, you'll learn something new.

We did the rum class on the Wonder in 2017 and loved it. The bartender who ran the class was great - lots of fun info and an interactive class. We have it booked on our upcoming Fantasy cruise and are really looking forward to it.
