Rum Point Beach in Grand Cayman

If you have been to Rum Point in Grand Cayman, how did you like the beach? Also, we are considering the DCL excursion "Rum Point Beach Adventure with Stingray City Tour". Our question if you have done this, does this excursion: Do they let you get in the water with the rays? I know the regular Stingray City tour lets you in the water but am wondering if the excursion with Rum Point lets you swim with them. We have gotten different answers and know you all will know!

We took the Rum Point Beach Excursion with Disney. We did not do the Stingray City tour, however about half of our excursion group did. The beach was very nice. It has plenty of shade and chairs. They do provide a very nice lunch. We had several menu items to pick from and it was very good. Those who went on the Stingray excursion came to the beach for a little while, then they left on the boat. They returned a while later for their lunch and some time on the beach.

The beach also has a little gift shop. We tried to do this excursion on our last cruise, but the weather was bad and we did not get into Grand Cayman.

I think you will enjoy this beach trip.

Rum Point is really pretty, we've gone there many times, the water is really shallow and you can walk out a long ways. The beach is fringed with Cassariana trees so there is shade along the waters edge which was really nice for the kids. Ofcourse stingray city is always fun.

I've never done the Rum Point excursion though, we've just rented a car and driven up as it gave us the freedom to stop along the way and the drive is really nice. Avis Cayman is who we've used as they give you special deal as cruisers.
