Ok I give up, fixing my sony A230 isnt gone to work. So I want a camera (preferbally not DSRL, cause I just dont use the other lenses i have enough) that takes photos that are as good as my dsrl, does good marco, is rugged (I do alot of hiking, rock climbing and active outdoors things), and isnt totally enpensive. I do have a rugged case that does well for protecting my camera but I want one that can stand up to a bit of rough treatment when out. For example, during the summer I climbed up a rock face to take a waterfall photo, I had the camera out when I was comming back down (I was taking tree photos) and slid, smacking my camera hard on the rock face. I got a big ole gash but the camera was totally fine (and I hit the lens).
If your still fallowing my scattered post by now, thank you! So any reccomendations?

The most rugged cameras seem to be the waterproof ones. Not dslr quality though. On days I hike higher peaks I tend to carry a fairly inexpensive p&s camera to save weight

Check out the Canon S90. It is a bit pricey, but it's come down a lot since the S95 came out. The lens is fantastic and has a large aperture for a P&S, so it's capable of decent low light photography. It's the only P&S I know of that can compare favorably to a DSLR.

The Canon G12 is pretty robust for its size and the image quality is quite good. The big thing about the G12 is that it's 10 megapixels and will shoot in RAW.
