Am I the only one that is noticing more and more people who are extremely rude in their responses? Usually, I just ignore it, but today it has gotten my panties in wad.

I guess folks are don't have a "filter" when they are behind a keyboard.

Thanks for listening.

I don't think people are being more rude than usual.

I think that there are more "controversial" (for lack of a better word) threads popping up...Hot button issues that illicit more emotional responses.

There are also a few possible trolls(that word is so over used!:rotfl:) and storytellers hanging around than usual and a lot of people are seeing through that.

I've been on these boards for many years.
I don't believe it's worse than its previously been.
Actually I think it's better. I can remember when some other posters were here, points were being given out all the time, me included.

I don't post near as much as I used to.
It's a different crowd here nowadays.

What I have been noticing and this happened to me tonight.

Responded to a thread. Previous answers didn't have the same information. As I edited my response someone else who posted before me edited theirs. Well I didn't see the new edit.

Another poster than quoted my edited response and asked why did I respond. Since a previous post had accurately answered the question (which like I said had been edited and I did not see.)

I hope this makes sense.

Anyway, I have noticed this has happened to others.

Not new at all. In fact, a thread like this tends to pop up about once a month on the CB. I've been around a long time and the only thing that's new are the screen names.

Good point.

Maybe I am getting tired of just ignoring the rudeness.

That doesn't sound overly rude to me, just a question posed before thinking about what they are saying. They are more guilty of an incorrect post then you were. At least yours was accidental.:rotfl:

A good different way to look at it.

I guess it was the "tone" that came off as rude. Of course, with the written word it is hard to tell what the intended tone is supposed to be.

The problem with boards and e-mails and all written communications is you can't read body launguage or hear tone of voice.

Yes, I've noticed harsher than necessary and rude responses. Sometimes you have a situation that you are too close to so you come to ask a bunch of strangers who never really have the whole story, not matter how much you write. I just don't get why people can't offer their opinion of the situation without being rude.

I had a post recently that at the end I had to thank those people who bothered to respond nicely. Not saying that they had to agree with me, but disagreed nicely.

So true.

Exactly! I wonder if folks don't know how to disagree nicely?

A full moon will affect people's reaction also. I never believed that theory about the moon until I started posting here.

:rotfl2: That made me laugh. I used to teach middle school and it always seemed the kids tended to act out when there had been a full moon.

I guess the same could apply here.

Ok, I will admit, I just was rude back to someone on the dis. So now I am guilty of doing what I was complaining about.

I even went as far as using the Bless your heart and tee teed in the cornflakes bit.

How do I redeem myself?:flower3:

Apologize :)

Everyone seems to get blasted at one point or another here. The first time that it happened to me, I was shocked but then I said oh well and kept posting.

I have noticed there are a few posters that walk around with a cloud (including a thunderbolt) and tend to be Negative Nelly and Neds or Mary (Mikey) Quite Contrarys. When I see their posts now, I just laugh.
