Rude incident on DCL (only once)--but, please don't do this.

I like your comment and it is definitely food for thought.

but she ran inside, I heard the door close.

She did not stick around to say "hello".
She was probably embarrassed. Maybe it was your response or body language that caused her reaction. This would be a non-issue for most people. I've seen a lot of weird stuff on cruises, but never felt the need to make an issue of it on social media.

Book the Concierge cabins on the front of the Dream and Fantasy and you will have a lot more people looking down on your verandah. Lol it comes with the territory.
Haha yes. We super lucked into the one on the Dream this past winter. I had no idea there were people above us for the longest time haha. When I realized it I had a good laugh.

Are those popular? I enjoy a veranda for the peace and quiet, looking at the ocean. I guess if you enjoy people watching then that would be the cabin to get.
We had a boardwalk view balcony and I think where they slotted in on price (more than non-balcony rooms, less than ocean view balcony) was where I'd rank them. It's better than no balcony at all but your balcony is basically a public area of the ship.

They also package those rooms in special rates that have certain inclusions like soda drink packages/ dining. They are popular people do like them if they like to watch the action. It’s kind like having a view of the Vegas strip

On Royal if you have a Central Park or boardwalk balcony you can see straight across into other peoples rooms. I saw some things I really didn’t need to see.

I never forget when my kids were just little, we were docked next to an MSC ship in Nassau. My littles were on the veranda enjoying the view-naked guy on his veranda directly across from us. I was like ok, kids- time for the clubs-nothing to see here! 😂 People are curious, people are naked😂- I wouldn't worry too much about it unless she made a habit of it. One time curiosity mistake.

On river cruises, here in Europe, ships often have to dock next to each other. People have to walk across the ships to get to shore. This means that while docked your view can be blocked by another ship. Or your stateroom window is right besides a stateroom window of another ship. Close the curtains!

When they 1) smoke pot, 2) have a party until 3am, and 4) actually have sex on their balcony, then you can complain. All 3 happened with our neighbors during our Christmas cruise.

Edit to add: and regular smoking. Every night. Cigarette butts flicked into the ocean. And, no it wasn’t DCL. It was our first time on RCCL.

It's just a comment. Hence the platform, in your words "social" media. I read the responding comments with an open mind--and responded with tact. It would be nice if you did the same, besides I could care less what you never feel the need to do. And in response to you trying to switch her response to mine, that's ridiculous. We didn't pause and ogle each other. As long as I am respectful and follow the rules of this site, I can discuss any "issue" I please.

I loved our Central Park balcony because there was no wind, and It was a cooler February cruise. It doesn’t bother me if people watch me sitting on my balcony. I also liked people watching below me. It was one of the few things I liked about Royal. I think a Boardwalk balcony would be entertaining. I also like the inside rooms that look down on the promenade.

Just reinforces the cultural differences between countries. We had a similar incident when a lady walked out to put her swim suit on a chair to dry, immediately after removing it.

France, Germany, Spain, Netherlands, Crotia, UK…public nudity is legal, you can roam around in your birthday suit and not be arrested.

We've had many friendly conversations especially when on the Alaska and Panama Canal cruises under the exact same circumstances. To each his own....
We had nice people beside us it was just the exposure from people at Cabana's. They were all nice but it was just a bit odd. The main reason I don't want the back room is noise from the engines. It was a bit much a few times. It might not bother everyone.

Absolutely, you can post whatever you want as long as it's within the guidelines, likewise, people can respond how they wish as long as it's within the guidelines. This forum in my opinion is a form of social media. If there's another name for it I'm not aware of it.

Dutch person speaking here, it is officially not illegal, but nudists are only naked at special parks or in their home.

A balcony is part of your home away from home, so by my standards, if you want to be naked on your stateroom balcony go ahead. :)

Boardwalk balcony was pretty loud, especially when the aqua theatre show was going on. It was nice to be able to look past the aqua theatre and see ocean though. We also had the zipline running above us which was entertaining.
