I've witnessed many rude guests at DLR before (and I'm sure many others have as well), but today was the first time I was left speechless and appalled. What really surprises me is how bothered I was, and the comments weren't even directed at me. We were sitting in the Hyperion theater waiting for the Aladdin show to start, and a woman with her baby were sitting in front of us. The baby was crying really loud despite the mother's attempts to calm him down. We still had about 5 minutes until showtime, so I wasn't too worried about hearing the baby throughout the show yet. However, a man and his family were sitting in front of the woman and her baby, and they were getting annoyed by the baby because they kept looking back at her. Finally the woman stands up just as her baby starts crying/screaming again, and I can only assume she's taking the baby outside. When the woman is already turning to leave, the man in front turned around and jeered at the woman "can you breastfeed him or something?!" The woman either didn't hear or didn't care, because she just left without saying anything. However, I was just shocked. Although it was still a few minutes before showtime, I don't really blame the guy for wanting the kid to be quiet, but I thought his approach was totally uncalled for. I don't know what everyone else thinks, but I thought it would have been far more appropriate to say "if your baby is going to cry during the show, can you please take him outside?" if anything was going to be said at all. Okay, I'm done ranting.
