I had a pretty funny but odd experiance at Chef Mickey last year too...
It was just me and my 2 daughters who were 6 and 4 at the time. We went spur of the moment to CM for a late breakfast, the last possible seating for the morning. We were right by the buffet and having a nice time. I had just had a bagel toasted and the girls were having dessert when the manager came up to us and told us that if we hadn't seen Minnie yet, she was getting ready to go in for the day and she was seeing guests at the front of the resturant for a few more minutes and to go ahead and see her and feel free to take our time finishing up breakfast.
We went to the front of the resturatnt, waited while a few other people saw her and then we got autographs and took pictures... walked back to the table to see it had been totally stripped down and cleaned. The look of shock on our face must have said it all because next thing I know the manager is coming back over with her chin dropped apologizing like mad. I was laughing my rear off, my girls didn't think it was so funny at the time.
She had the waiter completely reset the table, got us all brand new drinks, had the waiter toast another bagel for me, she even brought out two of the huge birthday cupcakes for my girls... and to top it off, when I got the bill, I found out it was totally taken care of compliments of the manager.
It was quite a story to tell the rest of the family when I got home... I am always nervous about taking solo trips with my kids to Disney, but this was hilarious.
