Earlier this week i called disney's central reservations and asked a rude cast member the rate for my family to stay at the Old Key West in a one bedroom villa for 10 nights. He quoted me a rate for the entire stay a total of $885.00 for the entire stay which ultimately comes out to about $88.50 nightly! Great rate right? We'll the downfall was I asked him to book it and he told me it was to be booked and he would just transfer my deposit from the POFQ to this room, the reservation number would have stayed the same and I should be recieving notifcation of the change in a few days. Well it's been a week and I have yet to recieve anything. I am scared of calling Disney's Guest Services because this is not the first time that this has happened to me with calling CRO and being quoted a bad rate. I am also scared that the person will be peanilized or even fired!... Please help me with what to do/say to Disney's Guest Services to get this rate, because Im afraid this isn't evidence enough.

That price is WAY off! It sure sounds great, but it's WAY too low! I can't imagine ANY code bringing the price down to that, especially for a 1-bedroom villa! I can't imagine how this would not be "caught" at check-in...I understand you not wanting to call, but if you don't get something in the mail soon, you'll have little choice. Did you check on the Disneygo.com website for the reservation? It should show your deposit amount and balance.

Sorry about your terrible experience. I think I would find out and get it changed before it is too late to do anything about it.

I checked on-line and it still says, Disney's Port Orleans Resort French Quarter... Any cast members know what they will do for me? I dont want to be set up for a let down with this room? What should I even say, this is Disney... I live to go to this place, and I do not want them to cheat me or vice versa!

Wow, you are between a rock and a hard spot. I would call CRO on the guise of checking on your reservation number. Give them the number and see what they tell you. If they say the same as you were quoted, write down the name, date, time you talked to the CM. If they tell you something else, tell them what you were told last, when you were told it and the name of the CM. It is possible they will be able to track it. If not, then ask for a supervisor and let them know. You will need the name of the original CM, the time, the date, etc. Without a written confirmation, I don't know if they will be able to honor the price you were quoted (you're sure you understood the price right?--- that is awfully inexpensive--- like in the value resort range), but you may as well see what they say.

well a rate like that it should have sent a signal off. There is no way they would ever rent an OKW 1 bedroom villa for that price.

Just call and ask if they can fax your confiirmation over as you had not recieved the one in the mail yet.

Don't ask anything about rates/dates/reorts

Yeah, It did set off an alarm but when he told me it was confirmed. I thought maybe it was promo and I had to go on a 90 Minute timeshare tour. But, Now im guessing if its too good to be true it probably is not!

If you are interested in DVC, you have to approach them. Thankfully, they don't promote themselves like other timeshare places in Central Florida, so that wouldn't be it.

I'm wondering if perhaps the CM meant to say $885 MORE than your room at POFQ, because I agree with everyone else, that is just too cheap for a 1 bdrm unit, no matter how good a code they may have had.

I agree that the amount referred to is probably the difference in what you were already paying and the additional amount to move to Old Key West. Meaning you owe the additional $885 over the amount for the previous room.

I remember a few years ago I got a misquote from a CM on the phone and when I got the confirmation letter I noticed it was for the wrong amount of days. When I called, wrote a letter they would do nothing because it was my word against the CM's. I even read back the dates to the CM when I made my reservations and she confirmed it. The difference in price made it not possible to go. This was before I knew of the DIS boards and before I knew what the rates should be.

Same thing happened! I checked my price to get the ap rate applied to my Poly ressie, & was told it was unavailable? (Poly is usually available and this was early am, day out). I then asked about Cr tower price and also had DIS boards up on screen with prices people where getting, and he had it ridiculously cheap something like 159.00 nite? I kept questoning him over and over again, cause when I figured it would come in the mail it would not be this price. I didn't want to screw up my "winter code price" on Poly ressie if I would be paying more in the end. So at the last minute, I said I think I need to speak to your supervisor to verify this price. He switched me over and the supervisor confirmed it was not that price but about 150.00 more, and that I would not of gotten that price on the written confirmeration, it would of come with the correct price. He must only of put in a few days or had something else incorrect, supervisor said, in the long run it would of been incorrect somewhere. I then asked if he would check and see if the poly was on the ap rate and available and it was. And I took that. I just figured if it sounds too good to be true it probably is......... . And I would be the one with the messed up ressie. :magnify:

Always be careful. I didn't want to "get someone in trouble" either but I gave this guy about 10 chances to recheck it, or go over the math, re-pull it up, and he kept saying it was correct. :badpc: I even told him the DIS boards and other web sites are reporting the prices @ $$$$ and he said they were off. ???

Mky princess:

When a rate sounds too good to be true, it most likely is. Sadly, I would pretty much count on the fact that you don't have a One Bedroom Villa.

:guilty:

The rack rate for a 1-bdrm in value season is $350. Even if you did secure some sort of discount it would not drop $261.50 per night. Obviously the CM made an error...I would definately call and straighten it out otherwise you will be terribly disappointed when you try to check in and don't have a room.

My bet is he thought he pulled up OKW but still had POFQ on his screen. I got a 30% AP discount once on an OKW 1 bedroom, so that would be $273 with tax during value season. I believe the reservation number would change if you changed resorts. If it's the same, it sounds like he still had POFQ.

How was the cm rude?

Another red flag is the reservation number staying the same. Whenever you change resorts, a new reservation number is created.

Good luck.

I had a similar thing happen to me, I had booked aGrand Gathering for 20 of my family mambers in 6 rms, well I then recieved a code for a better rm rate and called. The CM I got was very helpful he was told me that was not a problem to apply the new rate and was just about to do so when he asked if I wanted to possilby change resorts, I said I would ask my family first so he told me he would call me the next day. Well he did not call by the time he said, so I called back to apply the code. The new CM told me I could not do that, so I pushed it I told them that was what I was told the day before that this was not a problem and if I had known anything else I would have booked it the day before. Well she ended up calling her supervisor and I was giving everything I had been told would happen the day prior.I did not give any name of the cast member form the day prior cause I did not want to him get into trouble, but I also stated that I had asked about the ablilty to apply a new rate when I booked the GG, so sometimes you o have to push it in a nice way. Good luck!
