Rude Belle and Epcot Princess Dinner

I'm sorry to hear about your experience!
Once when I was in Epcot, I was waiting in line to take pictures with Mulan, the girl in front of us was whining and crying to her Dad... Mulan just turn to her and said ah, ah, ah, we are at Disney, and there's no crying here, if you want to take a picture with me, you have to stop the crying!!! I don't know if she was joking, but her face did not seem to be.
When it was our turn, she was happy and talked to my kids... maybe it was a way to make kids stop crying???:confused3

It might very well be a policy that Disney has in place that prevented her from having a picture of her taken with a crying child. It definatly wouldn't surprise me if it was. I do agree that Belle might have gone a bit overboard with the whole "Princesses don't give high fives" thing though. Even if she was trying to be funny, it doesn't seem very friendly or in-character for Belle.

And, in "reality", Belle isn't even a real princess, as compared to other Disney princesses. If I remember my story correctly :)

I agree - Disney wouldn't let my 8 1/2 month old take a pic with bare feet (don't recall their reason why) so I wouldn't be surprised if they wouldn't take a pic with a crying child. My son was always taking his shoes and socks off and the CM waved her hands in front of their photographer because she saw he didn't have shoes on. The character (a gorilla I didn't recognize) put his hands over DS's feet but she insisted they couldn't take the picture.

Belle sounded more like another B word though and could've been MUCH more polite about the crying child part. The high five part was totally not necessary; no reason she couldn't do it!

Sorry you had a bad experience there!

If this is the case then I would suggest that they have the the handler or photographer address these issues and notthe character. Having the character handle something like this breaks the suspension of disbelief.

In any case, writing a letter is definitely the thing to do. I would have probably made a trip to guest relations that very day!
