RSR Tire Change vs Paint Job

Strange question but is the Tire Change vs Paint Job really random on RSR? I ask because we have rode RSR probably 7 times or more and we get the Paint Job EVERY time!!!! We want to try the tire room but we never get to. I once asked a CM if we could get the tire side and she said it was random there is no way to tell. I haven't kept track of where we were placed in line at the cars... maybe that is the trick?? Any ideas? We REALLY want to try the other side for once. Thank you all!

It's every other car. So one car goes to the left, the next to the right. You can see the track change when you are entering that room!

I've noticed that when there's an odd number of cars because they dispatch from the HA queue then the odd man out goes through the paint side. It's every other car, but it ends up being about 60/40 paint to tires. I've never been in the single car that races alone and gone through tires.

Me too! I finally went on the paint side for the first time this last trip! I just assumed both sides were tires! LOL

Us too! In the probably 2 dozen times we've been on this ride, I've been in the paint shop TWICE. I always get the tire shop!

I assume it is random but also have a weird experience. Prior to this year, I think I've been in the tires every time. This year, I went on it 3 times so far and always paint.

The first several times we went on it, we were in the second car and went in the paint room, so we figured the first and third car went to Luigi's (which is where my daughter really wanted to go, she LOVES Luigi) then one time we were in the 4th car and went to Luigi's and after that it just seemed totally random each time we went on it.

I've been on the ride 4 or 5 times and only seen the paint job once. I think the paint is so much cooler than the tires. Oh well.

So funny - we almost always get paint and we almost always lose the race, because of course tires would matter more than color!

This last time we went we were in the first car and we got Paint, before that I don't know. Even though we always get Paint we win more than we lose (I think we only lost 2 times out of about 7 or so). So funny!

I didn't realise there were different experiences as we got tires everytime, each trip then bam paint what a nice surprise (happened to be my first night ride too)

I feel really special then, we rode twice in May, our only trip, and got both sides of the ride, first paint, then on the night ride got tires.

I rode 4 times my last trip a couple weeks ago and I got paint 3 times (and we won the race each of those times) and then the last one I got tires and we lost the race.

Over the past three trips, got paint shop 14/15 rides! Also only won the race twice

Rode 4 times on this last trip. Got the tires 3, paint 1. We won every race too. Lucky indeed!

OK, one more question. Is tires better or is paint better? Having never been to tires, I would HOPE they moved the car up and down on each of the 4 sides to simulate tire changes... is this right? Is one really better than the other???

That's right - that's what they do (move the car up and down, I mean). I'm not sure how many times we've ridden RSR by now, but we've only gotten paint once. I actually like tires better because they simulate a paint smell in the paint room, and I don't like that at all (but it's been over a year since I last saw the paint room -- so there's always a chance that they don't do that anymore).

They definitely still have the paint smell. It always makes me feel like it is harmful to smell it, but then I realize it must be some safer scent, and not as bad as real paint vapor.
