RSR is down...maybe for awhile

We had a nightmare day, back in the FP era at MK.

BTMRR down for refurb
Little Mermaid down extended
PP down
then Space went down….

When space finally came back, the FP line went all the way to People mover…. they actually were still letting standby in at the same rate as normal….and the FP line just got longer and longer….

Eventually enough guest complained that the shut down standby to get through the FP line.

BTMRR is under refurb too??? I have got to find a refurb list somewhere. That is the only ride that I will be crazy sad to miss.

Just to clarify, Turtle Talk with Crush is in DCA, in case that wasn't clear from my original post. If you are looking for things to do in DCA, I highly recommend Turtle Talk with Crush and the other things in the same building.

I've only been once but I don't even recall TT at DCA. I only remember at EPCOT. Where is it located? I Crush & Squirt.

Of course a ride I want to go on in a couple months for my first DLR trip. I’ve already grieved not seeing toontown but this would be a disappointment ngl. I can’t believe it hasn’t been refurbed since opening

I get this. Our first visit in 2017 I really wanted to go on Matterhorn but it was down for refurb. Our second visit is coming up next week and I'm recovering from shoulder surgery and still won't be able to ride Matterhorn.

"Closed" to "closed for refurbishment".

Let's hope this isn't another WOC 2018 even when WOC unexpectedly closed for over a year..

All good news I was kidding a bit... but also... not. Haha. My daughter is tall enough for our next trip so I am hopeful it's open soon.

Me, too! We’re arriving Sunday and, while I’ve ridden it a couple times, my traveling companions have not. And I believe it’s at or close to the top of their list for their first Disneyland trip. With Pirates and Toon Town / Roger Rabbit down (two of the other big ones on the list), I can’t help but feel bad for them if RSR ends up being down their whole first trip, as well.

Three big attractions on a person’s list being down would definitely not be cool. But it is what it is.

RSR is easily our favorite attraction at DCA (well, H would probably say Incredicoaster is, but he'd be wrong ) I am trying not to worry yet since our trip isn't until July but if it's down I will be very sad.

I am right with you. Our August trip, rescheduled twice over 2 years, was mainly for GE and Carsland….

I can live without the ride if I had to, but the impact on the rest of the parks during a crowded day cannot be understated…..

It will make both DCA AND DL more crowed….cause that ride is a people eater.

Cars Land was so sad today. They had the CMs pull out little lawn style games to set up near RSR (no one was interested) and it was just... empty.

Who wants to play lawn checkers at Disneyland? This was silly and I could tell the CMs thought so too

Omg! Get this ride up! once in a life time trip next week! If it is a single car issue, why cannot they not just remove that car? I am worried that they have ordered a part and with supply chain issues it could take some time. . Come on, Radiator Springs Racers! I am also wondering how this impacts Lightening Lane, isn’t this their big draw? Taking 3 WDW vets to DL (first time) next week. Already so bummed about Pirates!

They have talked about another ride in Avengers Campus, right? That would help.

Yes- there was supposed to be a headliner/rollercoaster housed in the Avengers HQ building (the one that seems so random just sitting there with a Quinjet on top....) there haven't really been any substantial updates or timeline given for this after it was removed from Avengers Campus opening plans. AC opening at DL Paris this summer does have another attractions (Avengers Assemble: Flight Force). Maybe they will announce something for DCAat D23 this year.

I feel like a rare character experience would make for a trip highlight. Obviously that’s a staffing issue though.

My guess based on pure speculation is that they may want to test all the cars to make sure it is in fact a problem with only that car and all the other cars are okay. I also heard at one point they thought the problem might be related to the track, so they may want to make sure that all parts of the track are okay as well.

It was just the idea, it wouldn't make it up for everyone but for some it would make lemonade out of the situation.

Or if they had a special prop or backdrop reserved only for these "recovery situation" they bring out to make the pictures with a common character extra "Instagram worthy." Like sitting next to a character in a mock Teacup or other pretend ride vehicle.

I haven't thought out at all the logistic details so I am sure the ideas has flaws.

Something unusual enough that could create a line (to help with crowds) and give people a rare and special photo they are elated to be taking home.

The calendar only shows the refurbishment until Thursday 6/2. Hopefully RSR will reopen on Friday.
