RPR Renovations Update!

I read the other post that the renovations were slated to start on the 7th floor which got me into slight panic mode so I decided to call RPR directly. We are staying on 7th floor club level 8/10-13 so this potentially will impact us. I was told that the renovations will be starting in two weeks and that they will start on the 7th floor. She did not know which tower but they are having a meeting as I write this to firm up the details of the renovations.She took down my phone number and promised to call me tomorrow once she gets more details after today's meeting. I hope they are not starting with the club level but my gut is telling me that they are. Club level has not been showing availability during our dates for over 3 months. I assumed it was because it was sold out but now I wonder if it is because of a potential conflict with the renovations. I am not in a full blown panic - yet - however, I do want to consider alternative plans. I wonder where they will stick us if the club level will be affected while we are there. The thougth is frustrating since we had this booked for over 8 months. I will keep my fingers crossed!

Hi, We had heard that they were renovating some of the rooms but were totally unaware that they were starting on the club level.
We to are staying at club level from 11th August - 13th August.
We have had this booked for over a year and this will be our 3rd visit at the RPR but our first time at club level which we have so been looking forward to.
We choose RPR as were not struck on the other two universal resorts, the theme suits us as a family and we have always enjoyed our stays there, hense our return.
Now the question is what are they going to do??
I'm having a little panic so am going to give them a ring.
I would be grateful if you could pass on any other info if you get it, I will do the same.

Looks like we are all in the same boat. We are scheduled to be at RPR club 8/10-8/12. Please let us know what you find out. I will ask them when I call about our room confirmation.

Hi have just come of the phone and spoke to some really helpful ladies.
We had requested a specific room and have been told that our tower won't be affected and they are only doing levels 1 and 2 !!!
Couldn't hear very well due to phone line but was reassured that there would be no problems
All we can do is put our trust in RPR and hopefully they will be true to there word. and everything will be o.k.
I do wonder if they have actually stopped taking bookings for that tower?
Will that mean a few less guests.
Anyway sorry about rather vague details, fingers crossed that we will all have a fab stay

Cornish Pixie- Thanks for the update. I wonder if the TMs are now out of the meeting. I will be patient and wait for them to call me tomorrow but the news they told you is very encouraging. Did they say level 1 & 2 or towers 1 & 2? If I recall correctly, tower 3 has the club level on floor 7. Maybe they are starting with floor 7 in towers 1 & 2. I am feeling better already! We love the HRH but love RPR Club level even better. With 5 people in our room, Club level more than pays for itself with the extra space to hang out and relax, continental breakfast, water and services from the staff. Sounds like it will be a very busy weekend so the FOTL access will be a big blessing! I'll post as soon as I hear something. Hopefully, my info will match the info you received!

Only 20 days to go untill we are in sunny Florida , Clearwater first for a few days and then RPR here we come

Any recent updates on this? I will be there Monday July 23, this coming Monday. Just curious if there has been anymore news. I've requested a 6 or 7 floor with an IOA view. Hope this is not where they are starting?

And what is this mysterious room you guys are talking about? Sounds intriguing.

I didn't hear back from RPR so I just called them. I was told that the renovations were starting next week with the 7th Floor of Tower 1. Club level in Tower 3 will not be affected while we are there 8/10-12. Yippee! We are staying at HRH in September so no worries for our next trip either!

I was just coming to post the same thing. I talked with Kiki, from the front desk, and she said that they would be starting with Tower1 and working their way over. So we are all in the clear

Which one is Tower 1??? Is this the tower that is closest to IOA with the view of IOA or is this the one on the opposite side??? I'm there on Monday and I've requested a 7 or 6 floor view of IOA, thanks in advance,

Hi everyone, I have just phoned the hotel too as we are staying at club level from 24-28th August.
I spoke to Maila and she told me that the renavations only take a few days for each floor and they will all be finished by the time i get there.
She also said that rooms are not being sold on the floors that are being renovated.

Oh great Do you know if that's the only tower with an IOA view?

It's the Tower with the best IOA view. We have stayed in IOA view rooms in all 3 towers.
