sorry for asking this again but i just can't find the answers and i guess that i am going crazy because my trip is finally down from like 250 days away.

what time does the RPR pool open and close?
do they have life vests for children available?

thanks. sorry for being a pain!

Pool hrs vary but prob 8am - 10 pm is normal never saw life vests although i did see lifeguards always on duty:jester:

I believe the pool is "zero entry" (like a beach) and is not very deep. This may help with the life jacket concerns.

HRH has life vests for little kids so I can only assume RPR would too. The pool at RPR closed at 11PM when I was there last weekend.

Thanks for the info. about the 11:00 pool closure RyGuy. We'll be there in 9 days & I was hoping the kids could have some pool time after the parks close. (Forget the early morning hours as we HAVE to be the first at the parks no matter where we go:p )

i'm happy to hear about the late closing as well. my niece and nephew already think that i am the coolest aunt for taking them to florida. they are so excited to swim at night and they think it is a big secret that they are keeping from their mom :)

i hope that RPR does have life vests as it was just so much easier at the disney resorts because my little guy is not the strongest swimmer but insists on staying in water too deep for him to stand :(

Since no one has said they saw life jackets there, I would not assume they have them at RPR. I think the others have them because they require kids under a certain height to wear them on the waterslides. I reccomend the cheap arm floaties at the dollar tree. They work well and don't take a lot of room in a suit case. And hey, they are a buck, you can throw them away before you leave.

The RPR pool is 4-4 1/2' all the way around w/ zero entry on one side of it. There is a gift shop in Tower 3 that might carry the water wings. We were able to buy a beach ball there last year.

I am wondering are the pool hours the same all year round? We will be there last week of August and I have just found out that the parks close at 7pm? We are disappointed to hear this but I guess we will just go to dinner after the parks close and then hang out by the pool, if they are still opened. We have stayed at the Royal Pacific in the past but haven't used the pools at night. We usually stay at the parks til closing (9pm), then go to dinner and by the time we are back at the hotel it is 11:30 or 12:00. Anyone know why the parks close so early at that time of year? We were planning on avoiding the parks altogether during the daytime because of the heat and just hitting them at night, looks like that won't be happening!

The reservationist told me that the RPR pool had some kind of water squirting thing for the kids, I guess kind of like at the All Star pool at WDW. Is this true? Are there any water slides at RPR?

sweet maxine,

I have never been to All Stars but the pool at RP has a big boat with all kinds of water squirty things, you can spray people, stuff like that. The kids have a lot of fun w/that. There is no slide though.

A member of the front desk staff told me there are plans to put in a water slide at RPR. Not sure when though.

Just don't walk too near the squirting stuff if you don't want to get soaked! The "kids" (old and young) don't care who they squirt!

And the water they squirt you with is much colder than the pool water!

It is HOT in Orlando! The message board at HRH said it was 98 on Saturday. My kids and I went pool hopping Saturday starting at PBH. We were staying at RPR so we took the bus to PBH. The bus is probably a whole other thread but it is the fastest, coolest and easiest way to get from one resort to the next or from RPR to USO. The kids liked the PBH Beach Pool's slide but were ready to go in about an hour. My kids remarked that the people there looked like Extreme Makeover contestants. DD15 said that the attendant at the slide reminded him of R. Kelly because he was making the young girls go between his legs and was spitting a little too much game. We walked to HRH because the walk back to the PBH bus stop was lengthy and we were dripping. At HRH I fumbled for my room key which was needed to gain access to the back door. A HRH guest said "Here, I have mine." and opened the door. Our RPR keys might have worked but this was easier. The kids love the HRH pool and kept going under water to listen to the underwater speakers. My DS15 would have loved to play basketball but there was too big of a crowd of teen aged boys at the hoop and he was a gracious companion to DD10. This pool had the hottest young girls sporting butt topper tatoos that got my DD10 jealous. DS15 tried to get a towel and they asked for a room key. The kids were ready to go in about an hour so we headed back to RPR. We walked the short distance to the bus stop at USO and the bus which was still empty took us straight "home". When we got RPR there was a group of about 15 waiting for the bus. I told the driver that he finally had some customers besides us and he said "They will want to go to either SeaWorld or Wet and Wild." He was right and had to tell them he stayed on site only.
Back at the RPR pool I felt more at home. I felt the people were much more friendly at this pool. The kids got into a volleyball game that included both young and old, male and female, fat and skinny. My DS15 got in a couple of "Meet the Parents" spikes to the face of this easygoing, fun loving full figured lady that had everyone laughing. I'm glad that they were using a beach ball and not a volleyball. I had to drag the kids away from this activity after more than 2 hours. There were quite a few kids with SpongeBob water wings but no lifevests at any of the pools. The pools were open to 11. We stayed last Aug and Oct when the pool closed at 10.
