Hi
i am thinking about booking this for next summer but wanted to know if anyone has taken children to it ?( will be travelling with 11 year old son) did they enjoy it and was it worth the money?
Also, where have you booked this through( hotel or agent?)
any help/info would be great.
We are staying at the RPR for 2 nights so thought it might be fun!
Best wishes
Ruth

We did the Luau in July '04 when DS was two months shy of his 12th birthday. He is sitting here as I type this. He says the food is good, but the entertainment got a bit boring, but it is fun to watch all of the men (from the audience) try to hula dance (DH got selected to go up!). I thought DS would get a kick out of the roasted pig, but he was a bit freaked out by it and would not eat it. There were kid friendly selections like chicken nuggets and fries.

We purchased our tickets at the hotel the day before we went to the Luau. I am glad we did it once, but I thought it was a bit pricey and probably would not do it again. The reason we went is because my mother was with us and given her medical situation, it was easier for us to stay at the hotel for dinner rather than going to CityWalk or one of the other hotels. When we went the Luau was held in a ballroom. I think the atmosphere and the overall experience would have been enhanced if it were held outside--though it was the Fourth of July weekend and I am sure the heat outside was a factor in the decision to hold the Luau indoors.

Thanks for the post. It does look expensive and not sure how my son would feel about the pig either!?. Thanks for the info, Ruth

We went to the luau in June 2004. DH was also chosen to do the hula-I use the term lightly in his case!! Anyway, it was pouring so the luau was held in the ballroom. It was ok. As I'mgonnabe40 said it was pricy and the food offerings were not great. Glad we did it once but will not do it again.
