We arrived late morning at RPR, Aug 13th, Charley day. Boy was I glad I had my Gold Leows First card! There was a long line at check in, but I breezed right up on the Leows First line! Of course, the room was not ready. And, as I read here, they tried to give a us king room on the club level. (We booked 2 rooms, one club, one regular). They say, "that was just a request", but I'm sorry, the rooms are not the same, it is not like asking for a certain view. )Confirmation said 2 queens) We had 4 people to put in that room......... They went back and forth, then offered us 2 connecting rooms, on floor 6 (one below the club). We said ok........ when we got into these rooms, they were not as promised, with a king and a pull out couch. BACK to the desk, and they switched us AGAIN, to non connecting, but the rooms both had 2 queens. Ours reeked of SMOKE, but they did come and spray it, and that worked. For all our trouble, they took $50 off per night for that club room (we were on AAA $255/night, I booked too late for a better rate) They had to give us seperate keys for access to club level, which worked out ok. (They said not to worry, all 7 of us could use the club floor, BTW, gave us 5 club keys. )
There were animals everywhere, and I may complain about that. It WAS due to Charley, but they were all over the lobby, the common areas, up on the couches, cats, dogs, birds, you name it. I was wondering, why not keep them in the rooms at least? OK, walk the dogs, but they were just hanging around the lobby, on the furniture. I do not have allergies, and I have cats, and a dog, but some people could get sick from this.
We had a GREAT time, parks reopened Sat morning, with all rides up and running. We LOVED the Club room, only observation, why not build it where you could have a great view of the parks?? It overlooks the highway, how odd. We found we saved $$, we ate breakfast, a large lunch at Citywalk, and then just picked at the Club in the afternoon/evening.
Thanks to this board for all the great tips......... we found we liked RPR equal to HRH. So, next time would likely just take the best rate.
