RPH vs PBH questions

I currently have ressies at RPH 6/9-6/14 (5 nights) SMSM standard 2 queen room $1000.18 2 adults, 3 children. My status with You First is blue. So I think if an upgrade was available it would only be to a different view. Is this correct? I have never stayed at RPH, but have stayed at PBH 2 times before. I love this hotel. In checking prices today, the rates at PBH are now $1179.90. My question is which hotel do I stand a better chance in getting upgraded (or a better upgrade)? I would like to have a parlor room. I was able to get an upgrade to a parlor room a few years ago when Brian Johnson was there. I know my chances of this are slim. Does anyone know offhand appx how much extra the parlor or a suite would cost? There will be 1 more person in my party Fri-Mon and I hate to see them have to get a separate room.

For a party of 5, your upgrade would only be to pool view at RPR.

At PBH, you could get upgraded to a suite (if available). If you choose to pay, I *think* it's $50/night. (That could've changed tho)

It's hard to say the chances of an upgrade. I know you are going pre-GO, but they predict a busy summer and the people who are YF Gold & Platnium surely already have their upgrades (like us).

You can try, but a King Suite at RPR only sleeps 3. So I guess your better upgrade would be at PBH...IF you can get it at either one.

Thanks for the reply.

I called the reservation desk today and was asking them a price for a 1 bedroom hospitality suite for 3 of the 5 nights that I'm staying. If I did this I would not get the SMSM discount. The suite (RPR) for the 5 days was over $3000. It would be cheaper to get another standard room for the 3 days.

$3K? That's a vacation...not just a room! If you don't get a suite, maybe you can at least get 2 rooms connecting?

After our YF status drops, we are content at the RPR (or cheapest onsite hotel) just for the fotl. While it is nice to get the suite/deluxe upgrades, we won't spend enuf time in the room to justify paying for the upgrade.

The main reason we stay onsite is for the golden key really....

I've never stayed at RPH. I'm still debating on whether I want to cancel and book at PBH (since their prices went down a little). I think we're only going to the parks 2 or 3 days, but since they had the SMSM special, that's why I booked the 5 days.
