We're coming back from a Disney Land/Sea cruise and booked two rooms for one night on March 20, 2005.

After reading the watch thread, I called RPH about an AAA discount (not available)

My email for both reservations quotes the rate at $239, but the girl said it was a glitch and the rate is $264, both without taxes.
What type of scam is this? I know it's not much, but every little bit helps.

What is the FAN rate? Any other suggestions on reducing my rate?

Kim

Hmmm, don't know if I would call it a scam, BUT, It is my opinion that they should have to honor what was quoted/printed on reservation. It is not your fault that they messed up. I would call and speak to someone else. Sometimes it is all a matter of getting the "right" (nice, friendly, helpful) person.

As far as other discounts, nothing is out there yet, except for AAA. Others, such as FAN, APH, ENT, should be out in a few months......

Oh, yea, FAN is Universal Fan club discount. You have to work for a company that is a member. APH is annual passholder, ENT is thru the entertainment books (coupons) and this discount is only available over the phone.

I would contact there general manager if u have the email etc thats your proof u are right it might not be much but every penny saved is another $ to your spending money don't just accept this write a letter detailing the complaint:jester:

just remember that EVERYONE has a boss!! if one person cant/wont help you then ask for his/her supervisor. repeat process untill you get desired results! :D be sure to write down who you speak with , the date/time and a breif note of what was said. (just incase they tell you yes, we will honor the email but then act as if they have no idea of what you are talkining about when you get their! if you are well informed then you just pull out your little paper and say " well so and so ................ said he/she would take care of the problem. if need be they can check and see that so and so was working at that date/time;) . also, if they tell you that their manager isnt avalible, then ask when would be a good time for you to call back. it may take awhile, but they HAVE to let you talk to a manager no matter what they say. its the law.

It definitely DOES help to have all the notes/names/dates you've taken during your planning! I booked our RPR Club room for July way back in Feb. with lots of confirmation calls in between....always making sure I wrote down whom it was that I talked to, day, time, etc. At check-in time, the computer showed our room but "no mention of Club level and none are available" I pulled out my notes, a manager was called over, and poof! club level room was found. Famiy thought I had "over-planned" until that happened :teeth:
