I booked a room at the rph at the annual pass rate. She told me that I can't use the loews express checkin line because the rate does not qualify. Has anyone used the loews express checkin even if they were told their rate did not qualify.

Did you ask her if you could use it or did she just offer that info? If you asked I can see why they would say you cant since it isnt a qualified loews first rate. The reservationists seem to enforce the rules more than some of the front desk check in staff.

Isnt the line for gold and or platinum members only or does it include all loews first members? I cant remember! Anyway, I usually use a rate that isnt qualified too and have never been told I couldnt use the line and when its there I always use it.

I had called back a second time to ask another question and thought I would just ask if I could use the line. I am going to try using the line.

We just returned from an 8 night stay at the Royal Pacific. I had the Annual Passholder rate and used the Loews check-in. Desk clerk said that even though the rate was not a qualifying one, I was still welcome to use the express check-in.

Welcome Back and thanks so much for posting this :thumbsup2

We'll be checing into RPH with an AP rate in a week. Good to know we can still use the express check-in. :cool1:

It wouldnt even occur to me to ask. The line says loews members, not loews members with qualifying rates. I always use it and always will. They have never even asked to see my card, much less ask me if my rate qualifies before checking me in, and by the time they have looked it up, youre pretty much done then anyway. The person working that line also has a much lower workload as well....imagine them telling you to get back in the long line so their co-workers can check you in instead...I'm sure that would go over well.

what about the AAA rates? Is that considered a "qualifying rate?" Does this term only determine the rate you need in order to get the extra perks like cookies, wine, miles, etc.? :confused3

we used AAA rate this last trip and it "qualified"....used express check-in line and got our water & fruit basket! :teeth:

Just returned today and used the Loews member check in line with no problem even though I did not have a qualifying package. Only was asked if I was a Loews member.

I read this last night, and now I must post :teeth: .....I think this is an EXTREMELY VALID POINT and I would NOT hesitate to mention it to the person working the desk.
