RPC Concierge at the GF- update page 2

FYI -- Disney reserves blocks of rooms for all sorts of events. We had rooms blocked at WL, CSR and ASmu for our wedding -- I think they reserved 10 at each resort and we didn't use any a WL. While I don't remember the schedule, they release the rooms at different times -- maybe some at 3 months before the wedding, the rest at 30 days??? They do this for conferences, family reunions, etc. as well as for different travel agency packages. These rooms would show up as reserved, even though there's no one in them and this is one reason why rooms frequently open up after CRO tells you there's no availability.

There are actually only 2 Deluxe rooms on each of three floors; floors 3, 4, and 5. Room 4422 is the best room in RPC in my opinion. It is very large and it is a very short walk to the concierge lounge. This room overlooks the zero entry pool. Regular concierge rooms can hold 5 people but the deluxe can only hold 4.

There is a laundry room on the third floor I think. Either way it is opposite the marina view rooms.

True, but I mean I called back immediately after being told its booked & was able to make a reservation.

The main bldg is sold out and no suites are available. There are 2 rooms available in Sugar Loaf Key Concierge. Is it worth the extra money? If we were to get the dining plan (free if they extend it or pay for it) and the Concierge, do you think that would cover all our food expenses? That is one of my many ways of justifying the expense-LOL~!

Also, I keep thinking how great for Concierge to plan all our AR's, extra help with arrangements, etc.

We currently have requested 2 GV (Marina View hopefully) rooms in Sago Cay. Would you switch?

Actually, if it were me I would say forget concierge & dining plan & go for the premium plan. You had mentioned before that you planned on doing alot of the childrens programs offerred at the GF anyway. It also includes child care so you could have a dinner (or 2) out alone with your DH.

If you are "stuck" with LV it would be great to watch the fireworks from your room at night and still get the kids to bed at a reasonable time. That factor alone, earlier to bed, outweighs any benefit our family would receive from Sugarloaf.
Unfortunately, even with a lagoon view room, it doesn't mean that you'll be able to see the fireworks and Disney cannot guarantee interior connecting rooms. If they're unlucky, they could end up with rooms that are apart and the view overlooking the beach. That would mean no romance on the balcony as mom & dad would have to split up between the rooms and no fireworks view. Of course that's the worst case scenario, but still a possibility. If it's not a stretch, I'd still recommend concierge, either SugarLoaf or the main building. You're paying a premium, but my experience with the staff is that they will go the extra mile to meet your requests. I'm not saying that there have never been problems reported with concierge, but there is a certain level of comfort knowing that you have an inside person helping you out. Sometimes that alone outweighs the additional expenditure. Definitely not an easy decision to make because of all the variables. Whenever I'm stuck with having to choose, I try to make a list of the pro's and con's for each choice. Sometimes just seeing it on paper can make all the difference. As JJohnson mentioned, you might want to include the amenities of the premium package and see how that compares with your other choices.

triplefigs,

We have stayed both in the main building concierge and the sugarloaf concierge - 2 times each. We were able to fit 6 in one room since one was an infant under 3. There was a daybed in both so it could fit 5 people easily. I do not know if they were considered 'deluxe' rooms, definitely not a suite. They were both nice, but I like the main building better - you can hear the orchestra and it was just a nicer feel being in the main building. Also, Sugarloaf has breakfast and snacks at lunch, but the main building, has that plus 'appetizers' during dinner time which you may or may not be able to make as your dinner once in awhile. Main Building also had wine aand cordials. I think it is a big difference in price though. If you decide to not do the main building I would definitely do the Sugarloaf.

DisneyMom, I agree, but Triplefigs reported that unfortunately, the main building is showing no availability at this time.

The rooms you described are a regular room as the deluxes don't have a daybed and only accomodate 4 over the age of 3.
