Has anyone done the Royal Tea on the Magic? Willing to give a short review? Thanks!!

I'm going to second this! It is expensive, and I want to hear people's experiences and if they feel it is worth it.

My good friend did with her 10 year old daughter. They loved it. It was the dry run before the official start. Expensive but if you have the money worth it. She said her evening server even came to check on them during the meal. Her daughter received a doll, jewelry box, and bracelet. There were small sandwiches, fruit tea, cookies.

I'll ask if I can share some photos.

I shared an elevator with two separate families just after each tea last week on the Magic. They were both quite happy with the experience.

I am thinking about doing this with my 6 yr old granddaughter next month as an early birthday present (she will be 7 in March).
I would love to see photos.

Thanks for responding! Did your friend say what the character interactions are like? Was it similar to a character breakfast on the ship or more interactive than that? I've read those seem very rushed. I'm hoping this feels like a good expense when we do it next month with our three kids - 6, 4, 3.

We did this on the Fantasy and it seems the same on the other ships. Character interactions were good, the princesses spent time talking to each child and really tried to engage each child. It was less rushed that the character breakfasts, but we've had longer on board and at WDW depending on the CM/line etc. This was a big splurge but my 5 and 3 yr olds loved it. We've been back for 6 weeks and they are still playing with the jewelry box and charm bracelets!

The hosts of the tea were very good and sang songs from each of the princesses movies as they came out as well as a few other songs and this really added to the whole experience.

This comes with A LOT of stuff. BIG autograph book, BIG doll, jewelry box, crown, and then BIG photo frame w/ pic of the princess. We needed another suitcase to bring home two of each of these!

I am not a fan of the doll I think it is... odd looking. My girls seem to agree because they have not really been played with. And we could have done without the Autograph book. It seems that they are trying to justify the price tag.

For us this was "worth it" and I viewed it as an on board excursion while my girls are too little to participate in a lot of the more extravagant shore excursions. We probably wont do it on the very next cruise, but will do it again in the future when my youngest is old enough to appreciate it.

We did the BBB in the morning before this on semi formal night (at sea) and it was a whole princess day that went over really well

Character interaction was very good. Far more time at least when they did it and a nice photo with all three princesses and nice backdrop rather than just stopping by the table for a quick photo.

Do they allow adults only or must you bring a child? Just wondering?
No adult-only parties. Must have at least one child.

From the DCL website:
Please note that this special experience is designed for children ages 3 to 12 and their parents. Each child must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, 18 years of age or older. Children in attendance ages 13 to 17 will be charged the adult price. Solo adults are not eligible for this event.

Do they not have the personalized cupcake for each child? My daughter was very impressed with this. Also, do you have a pic of the doll?

It is personalized in the sense that they call and ask you which princess she would like on her cupcake- no name etc

Anyone ever have a little boy do this? My 8 year old son wants to do it after he saw they get a sword and shield. Do you think he'd enjoy it?

My daughter is 9 and we just did this on the Fantasy. She did BBB that morning and the Princess meet and greet. The princesses were the same at the tea and they remembered her from the meet and greet. The interaction was fantastic. They each came to the table and had lengthy conversations with my daughter. We also ended up with a table for just the two of us, which was really nice. It was a great mommy and daughter time. I wasn't sure she would like it at her age, but she loved it and asked to do it again. (I think once was enough for the price!) I do think it was worth it though because it is just one of those special experiences that you will always remember. Little kids are only little for such a short time that experiences like this are really priceless.

We're taking our three year old son (and 6 and 4 yo daughters) next month. I can report back what the boy thought. Although he tends to love whatever his sisters love :)
