Hi all! I'm new to these boards :) I have lurked for yeeeears in hopes that I would one day make it to Disney World, and well, I'm creeping closer! One of my best friends and I will be on the Disney Wonder for the September 17th Halloween Cruise to Cabo for 5 nights- Yay!!

Soooo... I have a question, and if it sounds a bit strange at first, bear with me...

I'm interested it attending the Royal Tea Party, but I saw an age limit. Is Disney willing to make an accommodation? I'm a HUGE fan of Disney princesses and I know they are just characters, but I would love to meet all of them and take selfies and get their autographs. I'm honestly not some creepy person, just an ~older fan :) Plus I saw that with the admission price you get a music box, a doll, etc. It all just sounds so fun!

Even if there isn't a way for me to participate, will there be other opportunities to meet the characters? There isn't going to be a Frozen Deck party on my cruise, or a character breakfast (I believe those are only on the 7 day cruises) so that's why I'm asking. Also, anyone know why there is an age limit? Surely there must be other adult Disney fans that would be interested- perhaps a separate adult tea?

Looking forward to posting more! :)

All the cruises have princess meet and greets, and I think they all have Frozen meet and greets now too (although, happy to be corrected on that one). They are free, you just need to book online when your booking window opens. You can get photos and autographs there.

Apart from that, at least some of the princesses (not Anna or Elsa though) meet separately in randomly scheduled meet and greets - these are advertised in the daily Navigator and you just go and line up.

Hope that helps!

I agree. I think Disney misses the mark by excluding adults (without kids). I imagine that most adults who cruise on DCL grew up with and love most things Disney, and enjoy the opportunity to feel like a kid again and relive their "Disney" youth with childlike wonder, just as at the parks. Adults pay big bucks on DCL and don't seem to hesitate to pay even more for special experiences. I am certainly one of them. I hated it when they ended High Tea at Palo, but I'd be more than willing to pay for an "adult" tea with the characters. I have no hope of that ever happening though.

Even if DCL were to decide to let adults without kids book the Royal Princess Tea Party or anything similar, the adults would be mostly ignored because giving attention to the kids would always take priority. That is why I wish there were similar "adults only" offerings that are designed to let us grown-ups be kids again. :)

As noted, the most logical reason for the "no adults only" is most likely due to being designed for a kid's experience. And most of the attention from the Princesses would mostly directed to the children in attendance. Then you'd have adults complaining that they were ignored.

It's easier for the characters to "be themselves" with kids than adults.

That's true! So there was an adult one at one time I'm guessing? Was High Tea sort of like what I'm proposing?

I guess I feel better now that I know I'll be able to book a character experience; I was mostly just worried that there were age limits or the requirement of having a kid to attend.

I can totally understand that. I think children should have priority! But I also think that Disney is making a mistake limiting it to children only. Us adults are the ones with the funds ;) I would pay a decent amount for a Tea experience and who knows, others might too! Like Expatriat said, us adults want to feel like kids again too!

Someone needs to kick this idea up to Disney. This needs to happen lol, hopefully before my cruise.
