I'm staying at RP in NINE Days! I have a few questions:

1. I booked a standard King size room - first, will I definitely get a king size bed; and what should I ask for to get the best room possible? I'm a member of Loew's
2. How is the luau?
3. How is the breakfast buffet?
4. do the standard rooms have fridges?

Thanks!

I like room 1740. It is a standard room. It has a great theme park view. The last two times we stayed at RPR we were upgraded (Loews Plat, but can't hurt to request an upgrade at any level) to a King Suite--both times without requesting the upgrade. For a King Suite, 3500 is a great room with a view of the pool.

To make a room request or ask for an upgrade, call the hotel directly and ask to speak to Yasmin at the front desk--she is in charge of the Loews First program for RPR. Ask her if an upgrade to a King Suite is available with your Loews membership. If the hotel is low occupancy they just might do it. If they don't upgrade you, make your room request at this time. You can request a specific room, or you can tell them what type of things are important to you--view, distance from elevator, etc. The phone # for the RPR is 407 503 3000.

Neither the standard room or the King Suite have an empty refrigerator--just the one that is standard with the mini bar.

Luau--okay
breakfast buffet--very good.

Just bumped a thread called "Post Your Royal Pacific Room Assignments Here" for you to review if you want information on room types and locations. :paw:

Thanks! I just talked to Yasmin, she is giving me Tower 1, sixth floor, water view, king size bed - should I ask for 1640 since it would be a floor below 1740? would that be a kingsize bed?

Seems like you're almost set with your room assignment. Now all you need to do is stock the cooler before checking in. If a limo is taking you, they will stop at a grocery store as a perk. If you have the rental car, then you're set, you visit the Publix here and stock up. You need to buy a styrophome cooler, they sell them in the beer isles. When you check out, just leave it next to the ice machines.

Write down that address, visit maps.yahoo.com and print a map.
Also, write down the number to Flippers pizza 407-521-0607, you can order in. Here's their menu.

The driver comes to the front. Oh, and pack gallon zip lock bags in your suitcase to save the left overs.

I don't know what type of bed is in room 1640. Room 1740 has two queens.

do you order items over the phone from Publix and then just pick up?

No, you go there and shop, it's a grocery store.
The limo service will usually stop and give you about half an hour to shop. If you rent the car and drive there, then you can take your time.

Pick up doughnuts, milk, and OJ. That's your breakfast, which saves time and money in the morning.
Next, pick up a styrophome cooler in the beer isle, they're like $5. Get beer, wine, soda, and some snacks.
While you are there, visit the deli and order a couple subs. They're great and that can be your dinner the first night.
Fill the cooler with ice back at the hotel.

Yes, it takes an hour to do this, and it's a chore to keep ice in the cooler, but it's much better than walking into your room to see a $6 bottle of water on top of the mini bar.
